The school semester officially started in September over here and we are busy school hunting for our little Angel who is ready to enter kindergarten. So I told her we would visit one of her school tomorrow which makes her very excited.
In the morning, she woke up in a jolly good mood and dressed herself up automatically ready to get going (I just wished that she could keep that up forever!) and before we left, she asked me for her toddler backpacks that everyone is carrying to their classes. I told her that this is just an unofficial visit so she doesn't need one and luckily, she didn't pressed for it further.
I am happy that she didn't zip her lips tightly just like before and happily talking and responding to the teacher's questions :)
The very nice classrooms with a very big interaction board as shown above which is a very huge interactive touch screen.
The small library with some reading materials and toys for the kids. The school also have a computer room and a movements and musical room for kids to have their classes conducted accordingly.
This is the area where the kids taking their naps. I think it look tidy and clean. If Angel were to take her naps there, I will certainly brought along her cute pink turtle nap mats which will makes her feeling as cosy as home. We both loves her nap mats!
The school actually looks great and the teacher was very friendly too. Angel enjoyed herself so much that she took off her shoes and jackets while running around wanted the teacher to chase after her @_@
And of course, she did it again. She was so happily running around and locking all doors preventing the teachers to come in and finally locked herself up in the main entrance of the school building. The 2 teachers who have the keys tried to unlock the door but the electronic door just won't open up. And the other person who has the master key to the door was on leave! So all of the teachers on duty starts panicking calling on the phone asking for help while I was standing at the door telling Angel we are playing a rescue game so don't go anywhere while I saw her nodded her head and peeping out from the little space in between the door smiling happily (yes, she is still smiling) waited to be rescue.
So after 15 minutes and with Angel starting to feel hunger and asking for her Stephen Joseph water bottle and lunch box, the teachers were still calling around asking for keys! I asked one of the teacher is there an alternative way instead of using the key only then they told me there was actually a switch beside the door but too high for Angel to reach. Sigh .... should have told me earlier!! So I told Angel about the switch and true enough, she can't even reached it and then suddenly, she put her index finger near her head just like how we used to play our thinking game and said, "Err, let me think ..... AHHHH HAAAAAA!!!!"
She quickly moved herself into one of the teacher office and pushed out a big and heavy chair (I am glad that I feed her well :P) and then climbed on top of the chair while my heart bounced so fast ...
CLICK~~~!!! the door suddenly open up and everyone was shouting with joy and Angel stepped out of the room saying, "Yes, We did it!!!!" and give me 5 @_@ She must have thought that she is Dora in one of Dora's great advanture!
So finally we left the school with this little naughty girl Hero wearing a big great smile on her face! She is so happy that she has rescue herself from the locked door telling me, "Mommy, the school is so much fun!!!!" *gulp* with me still wiping my sweat away from her 1st mischievous in her 1st day in school.
I am sure that our 'fun time' is just a beginning .... *double gulp*

A Very Hungry n Naughty Little Girl

Maybe due to the cold weather in Shanghai, this little naughty girl is constantly asking for FOOD!!
Every 1 – 2 hours she would tell me “MOMMY, I am SOOOOOOOO hungry!! Please give me some food!!” but she could not finished off the rice / porridge if I do not feed her for the last few spoons.
Once hubby’s 2nd Aunty who came for a short stay with us here jokingly said to me
A: Luckily you are not her (Angel) step mom!
M: Huh? What do you mean?
A: If you are, then people must have thought that you have starved your child till she is constantly asking for food!
@@_@@
So these few weeks, she would sneak out from her room very early in the morning, just to ‘hunt’ for foods from the table!
She would ransack the dinning room and find anything that can be eaten despite we warned her numerous time that she shouldn’t do that but instead, she finds that food that she ‘gets’ without our permission taste better! *angry* She would nibble off whatever hubby prepared on the table for our early morning breakfast!

If she couldn’t find anything else, she would grab whatever fruits that she could find in the house and ate it with the peanut butter jam or the peanut butter alone!!!

It has gone worst to the extend that she would picked up any food or non food traces from the floor/ on the sofa and quickly pop it into her mouth while running away from me stopping her. *fainted* I have explained to her numerous time why she should not ate stuffs from the floor and seems like she understand what I told but the next day, she would repeat the same action again.
Guess what she ‘ate’ this afternoon?? This little girl who is so terrified of taking medicine actually dig out my medicine box and popped 1 of my flu pill!!! *wipe sweat*

Asked her why she did that and her answer would always be, “….Because, I am so hungry!!!!” The fact is, she has just eaten a bread minutes ago!
Oh my … while other is constantly saying that when our kids gets older, it’s easier to take care and hence, it’s time to have more children but I found that it’s not for my case! Now that Angel gets older, she would starts doing things that I do not have to worried about when she is still a baby / toddler. Or should I say she would starts do things which she would have done months before while she was much younger like popping food from the floor or peeing on her pants, etc? Furthermore, she now starts to make contribution to the economics growth too i.e. breaking stuffs and appliances in the house. :(
Especially these few months, I have been watch her every action like a hawk! Can’t even take my eyes off her even for a split second! I cannot imagine when the time comes that I have to take care of baby Annabelle at the same time.
I think I need to grow another pair of eyes and hand fast!! Just hope that my heart doesn’t popped out too soon!

Scribbles On The Wall [2Y3M]
Yes .... another milestone achieved again :P This is what happened when I take my eyes off her for a few seconds while doing my packing. The bad thing was, I always anticipated these on 'our' walls but nope, she done this on her Ah-Gu’s (My brother) wall instead. Urrgghhh!!!! This is her first time and I felt sorry for my brother’s clean piece of wall now decorated with Angel’s scribbles :(
So I show her the scribbles on the wall and told her that she has made the wall dirty and sad. She asked me to wipe it clean (hahahahaha!!) but I demonstrate to her wiping with a piece of wet cloth won't take that off either. I make some story up that it is not the right thing to do as Ah-Gu do not like 'flowers' on the walls but now she drew some flowers on it which is not so nice to do. Then I asked her to walk to her ‘naughty corner’ and stay there for few minutes while she was sobbing for my hug. After few minutes, I give her a big hug and stood her in front of the wall again, asked her if she wants to draw on the wall and make the wall sad again ….., she look at me, nodded and wanted to start scribbling on them again. Once more, I lead her to her little naughty corner and repeat the same thing and told her that pens are meant to scribble on papers and not the wall. She remains at her naughty corner for a few minutes again with some sobbing and crying for a hug. After another hug and I stand her in front of the wall for the 3rd time and asked her whether she wants to draw on the wall, she look at me, then she said, “No! Don’t Want!” then I told her she was doing the right thing and give her another hug (although Angel's grandma keep teasing me that she won't have that patient and time to do all that!!! Her way is smacking! :P :P) The next morning, I handed her a pen and stand her infront of another piece of wall and asked whether she wants to draw on them again, she hesitated then told me “No! Don’t Want! Don't Want! Not Nice ~~~!!” and starts to look for the piece of paper I gave her yesterday :)
I think a few minutes of explanation and make her understand the consequences, making her own decision to do / not to do it and also given her another better choice (i.e.drawing on a piece of paper) really worth the extra afford and time spend in the long run. At least she understands why she’s can’t do it and hence don’t feel like doing it, instead of she wants to do it but she was afraid to do it because I said so ….. Maybe this workds for some kid and not for others so I think the most important thing is to find a method which works for BOTH you and the kid. No one method is the BEST or the WORST but only the Most Workable and Suitable method according to the kid's personality.
I am glad that it all ended well :) But still …… the poor wall with Angel’s signature on it, I am glad that it’s not a huge piece of art work that she decided to do that day, phew!!

What An ‘Unforgettable’ Father’s Day :(
The sunny Sunday starts off just fine and we celebrated our Father’s Day in Safari World here in Bangkok where 3 off us are having so much fun and excitement. We return home quite late so we decided to have our dinner at home instead. So I asked hubby to bath Angel and keep a close eye on her in the living room while I can rush for dinner preparation after a tiring day.
Everything was almost done, so I pour the hot soup into 3 individual bowls, placing them at the very inner corner of the kitchen table top letting them to cool down a bit before moving them onto the dinner table in the living room. Angel has been extremely active lately and would climb onto our table and disturb whatever we placed there. I heard Angel’s voice coming out from the bath room after her bath so I continue with the cooking and then I was a bit surprise to hear that hubby was in the kitchen washing up the dirty dishes leaving Angel all alone in the living room. I don't feel right to leave Angel alone without knowing what she is up to coz she has been quite 'active' lately and would do almost anything that we forbidden her to do. So I worriedly ask hubby "Where is Angel? Why are you in the kitchen again? Don't leave her alone in the living room .... I think you better go out and keep an eye on her coz she has been pretty mischievous lately and .....” while turning around looking for her holding onto my cooking spatula still. OMG!!!!! I can’t believe my eyes when I turned and saw Angel is standing behind me in the kitchen reaching for her bowl of hot soup on the kitchen table top already. While I scream “NO!!!!” trying to stop her but it was too late, she got hold of the soup and the soup was already spilt all over the floor and also onto her hands!!!!! She was screaming helplessly but still trying her very best to balance her bowl of soup in her hands with more hot soup keep pouring onto her so I quickly grab the bowl and shout at hubby, “QUICK!!!! COLD WATER!! RINSE HER HANDS IN COLD WATER!!! FEET TOO!!! FEET TOO!!!” and hubby still MCC but still, grabbing the crying Angel to the toilet and rinse her hands while I keep saying “LOOK AT HER CHEST??? HER CHEST??? TAKE HER WET CLOTHES OFF HER SKIN!! IS HER CHEST HURT???” We quickly sat her down and check her all over. She was crying and shouting “BAO BAO!! MOMMY BAO BAO!!” with tears pouring down her face!! I was so terrified but my heart was a bit relief to find that her clothes is not wet at all …….. but both her hands, both feet and also a small patch of her lower chin turn so red after getting in touch with the hot soup. I quickly check again, no blisters and no skin peeling and I know she hates ice packs so I quickly ask hubby to grab for the minty toothpaste and apply sparingly onto both her hands and feet hoping that it will sooth her burns. Hubby rush to the pharmacy while I make the 2nd round check to make sure she do not need to be rush to the emergency ward ….. She was sobbing in pain and I can see that both her hands are still shivering uncontrollably and so are mine! I hug her close to me and I think I feel the pain more then she could feel it in her hands …….
We are so relief to see that the toothpaste does cool down the burning sensation in her hands which stops her crying. We decided to clean her up and surprisingly, she doesn’t seems to feel the pain anymore and starts moving around and grabbing things again which I am so relief. So we apply the Aloe Vera Gel which hubby got from the pharmacy onto her hands and feet and also her chin again and again until she went to bed. The next day, the redness on her hands and feet are healing very well and living no sign of redness at all. When I pressed her hands and asked her if it's still painful, she said "No~~!" shaking her head ….. what a relief!!!! The red patches on her chin is also fading but I think the delicate facial skin will take few more days to be fully recovered. I hope it will not leave any marks and I really thank God of watching over Angel!
I think the soup must have been cool down a bit while sitting on the kitchen top after some time. And also maybe Angel is holding her soup bowl on both the ear of the bowl extending them far away from her body and not ‘pulling’ the soup down from the kitchen top which it will come pouring all onto her face and body if she does that. What a relief!!! Sometimes I really at wits end when it comes to letting hubby taking care of Angel even for a seconds as this is not the first time things happen when Angel is under his care, but I am more angry at myself for not being able to pay full attention to her every minutes and every seconds without help!!! Sigh!! Angel’s accident this round might seems to be just a minor one but the after shock which I go through really is such a nerve racking experience coz the moment when I saw the soup was pouring down at Angel’s direction, I really felt as if the hot soup was pouring down on me and felt the pain and it’s still there and will be there for quite some time. I don’t know how hubby is taking all these but I certainly feel so guilty for what had happened and I promise myself that this will be the very last time that this kind of accident carelessness is going to happen ever again!! I think hubby feels the same way I do too …….
What an ‘unforgettable’ Father’s Day we had :(

She Was Stuck!!
When Angel woke up from her afternoon nap yesterday, she was calling “Mommy~~! Mommy~~!” as normally does so I didn’t attend to her immediately as usual, and continue to prepared my dishes for our dinner. Somehow, I heard that she starts crying with a very strange tone so that’s when I start rushing to the bedroom and check her out. I see she is sitting on her crib like she normally does but didn’t stop crying when she saw me *feeling strange* So I pay closer attention and then I saw her leg ….. Oh, no wonder, I think she was stuck!!
I find it really funny at first so I quickly took a few pictures of Angel’s (When she saw me with the camera, she cried even louder :P) as to show her daddy how mischievous his little girl was even while taking a nap and then trying to release her legs from the crib bars. Then there’s when I see the problem. Her legs were stuck in a position that she can’t move even an inch to left or to the right! I tried to straighten her feet so that I could release her lower calf but I can’t as the movements of her thigh was blocked by the side crib bars and also her chubby thigh was stuck in between the crib bars too! I start to worried a bit so I try to hold her up and see whether it will straighten her legs a little and release her from the leg locking position, and then there is when Angel starts to cry even louder in pain! I quickly put her down and to my horror, she can’t get back to a sitting position anymore and if she does, those bars will press on harder on both her ankle and thighs!!
Gosh …. That’s when I start to get panic while holding her entire body weight with her in the half squatting position and me bending half way down her crib! Moving either way will makes her screaming in pain and I started thinking how to reach for my phone at the other end of our room to call hubby back to the rescue. I even starts feeling regret not to have a saw or something like that at home just in case for emergency but then when I look at how thick were those bars …. I know even I have one at home, it won’t help much either :( (Silly me!!) With Angel still screaming in pain trying hard to free her legs and I am still thinking what to do, then suddenly I notice the mattress underneath her legs! Without hesitation, with one hand still holding onto my half squatting Angel, I start pulling and pushing her mattress with the other hand and then suddenly, she legs was set loose with the extra space by removal of the mattress. I carried my poor baby out from her crib and she is still crying and holding onto her ankle with red bruised mark telling me “Pain Pain ~~” with tears still pouring down from her face, poor thing!
I was just discussing with Mommy Esmeralda the other day that we have to be very careful with our kids who normally will be so ‘keen’ to stick their heads out in between those safety handrails / staircase safety rails because when I was still a naughty young toddler, this phenomenon is a very common ‘hobby’ among our friends and we will talk about who and who got their head stuck in between those rails again and how the firemen will come to the rescue by cutting those rails apart, or XX mom have pour cooking oil onto XX hand to release his/her hand which got stuck inside a vase, etc…. while having a good laugh about it. Now that I know not only the head will get stuck so easily, even Angel’s own legs will got stuck in between her own crib bars too! But I really don’t understand how she managed to lock her legs into that locking position in the first place and can’t get them out after that? Is that what we call ‘Naughty’ or is it once of the very common “Unavoidable Experiences” of growing ups which will have more to come in the future??
Anyway, me and hubby did have a good laugh about it while Angel pointing at her own pictures and tell me “Noh~~! 哭哭(crying)~~!!!” :P Oh, Life is full of ‘surprises’!! I do hope that my ‘heart’ will be strong enough for all these unexpected events :)

Mouth Ulcer After The Fall
Here is some update on Angel's condition after the fall in my previous post 'Swallon Lip and Tongue'. She is feeling much better now and thanks for all your concern *hugs* Her swollen is almost subsided as well as the red lines on her face has totally disappear leaving a small red patch on her outer upper lip.
Somehow she developed mouth ulcer from her minor incision on the inner lip …… oh, poor baby, it must hurt a lot ..... This is the first time I am facing problems with mouth ulcer in toddler but I will bring her to her paediatrician if the ulcer is not getting any better in a day or 2. But at the mean time, any expereince in healing / dealing with her mouth ulcer?

Swollen Lip and Tongue
Angel fell down at the play ground during our outing today. Me and hubby watching her closely but still, it happened!! Sigh …!!!
Actually she was happily playing on the slides, climbing up and down the stairs and running around the play area while me and hubby chasing her all over the place. After a good 30 minutes of playing, she was sitting down at the top of the slide again ready to make her way down sliding while me and hubby standing at both beside of her ready to catch her if anything happened. But instead of sliding down, she tipped over to her side falling to the metal platform (about 1 feet lower) and landed on her shoulder and face!!! I tried to catch her but since she tipped over to hubby’s side, I can’t reached her while hubby also didn’t noticed coz his vision was block by the hand bars. It happened so fast and I alerted hubby and quickly ran over to get her ….. she was crying furiously and tiny bit of blood coming out from her mouth. After making some inspection, the blood was actually from the wound on her tongue and her upper lips on the right. Her teeth must be cutting into them while she falls.
I am thankful that it’s just a small cut apart from a red line over her face (still visible after 12 hours now) and also her lips was a bit swollen. However her mouth seems to be in great pain and once in awhile, blood still coming out from her tongue. So my poor girl refuse to eat her dinner tonight despite that she was very hungry and keep asking for food. So at the end, hubby manages to feed her some bananas in rice cereal. I think for a day or 2, she will not be having any hard food until her wound gets better. *so heart pain*

2 Days before CNY [24Jan’09]
Last minutes shopping at MV that is. As no one helps to look after our naughty girl so she tagged a long with us for our last minute shopping. The malls are so full of people and it was definitely hard to shop with Angel nowadays as she always wants to wonder off by herself, do not want to put on her safety harness (no choice but we have to) and also refused us to carry her. So for the entire day, she was cranky and crying all the time because we want her to stay close to us.
Angel’s also having her first taste of Kenny Rogers on that day! The restaurant was so packed and the service was a bit slow and therefore, Angel basically was shouting at the waitress when she saw them bringing plates full of food but which was not for our table. She even bang on the table out of frustration and crying + shouting out loud ‘MAAM~~ MAAM~~’ until everyone was looking our ways *shake head*. Stopping her and asking her not to do that nicely is just no use when it comes to a frustrated toddler. No wonders they said kids who are hungry really can’t wait for even 1 minute, sigh!
So after dinner we continue with our shopping. Hubby helps to look after Angel for awhile while I was busy flipping through some jeans at Jusco. Then suddenly hubby asked me did I see Angel and I was shocked …… hubby was pulling Angel on the safety harness and how could she got lost? Hubby said he was still holding onto the harness 1 minute ago then she was gone!! Harr???? What does he mean that she was GONE???? Asked him again and he tells me he don’t know ……… OMG, I quickly run all over the place looking for her and so does hubby. Asked hubby where he brought her and hubby said they were just standing there going nowhere!! Suddenly I remembered an escalator nearby so I quickly run towards it hoping that she was not going to ran down the escalator but she was not there. Then I tried to look everywhere nearby but after a long 5 minutes of searching among the crowded people (while there was an announcement for a 5 year old boy who also got lost) really made my heart pounded so fast! I dreaded hoping that she was not kidnapped (after hearing some scary stories at the malls obviously)!! Then I met up with hubby and still no sign of Angel then I start asking hubby where he lost her and how could a 1 year + toddler vanished from his sight and yet he do not know how he lost her *slap forehead* :( Then hubby finally went back to the place where he and Angel stood previously and shout out loud calling Angel’s name!!! Then suddenly hubby heard a giggling sound from where he stood …… then hubby looked down at the clothes hanging beside him and noticed a tip of a pair of shoe under those clothes! GOSH …. There she is!!!! Actually Angel didn’t wondered off, when hubby let go of her safety harness for the split second and talk to me, she just take few step backwards and hide behind those pile of hanging clothes!!!! When I saw hubby carries our girl out, I burst into tears while some other people were looking at me wondering while I was full of tears!! I can’t stopped kissing her while she still smile happily thinking that we played hide and seek with her!!! From that point onwards, I carry her in my arms the entire night and ask hubby to flip through the clothes while I look through them. I rather do it that way just in case that hubby will ever lost her again.
Anyway, I still manage to grab a couple pair of jeans for myself and also some CNY clothes for hubby then headed home straight. It’s really impossible to shop while carrying a super ‘cranky’ toddler and also an extremely hopeless ‘helper’ at the same time in such ‘crowded’ mall during such busy time of the year. But I must say that I am glad our day ended well despite of that scary episode in Jusco that night. Luckily Hubby and I didn’t leave the venue and headed to the security department reporting for our lost girl living her alone there or else, I think she might really got lost and wondered off somewhere all by herself if she couldn't fine us there. We are lucky this round but I feel so bad about ourselves that night …… that’s why I want to jot this down reminding me that this incident will not happen EVER again!!
