Happy 5th Birthday Angel - Part 2

Oh dear ..... Angel's birthday posts still not yet completed till now so ok, I will make it a quick one coz I have been dragging it for way too long :P

She was dressed like a Princess (Snow White is a Princess too right? :P) and she was very happy indeed.

On the day itself, lovely grandma has prepared Angel's usual birthday meal with Mee Suah + a very huge drumstick + red eggs. She requested for pure grapes juice too which she doesn't gets to drink very often and wallop up everything in satisfaction!


And then, she requested for her sandwich 'in bento' style after her afternoon bath 1 hour later! A girl with big appetite!! Luckily grandma is a very handy person and came out with those lovely heart shaped chicken sandwiches in no time and makes her a very happy birthday girl :) :)


We had a simple dinner at T.H western restaurant with our immediate family members and the highlight of the night was the cake cutting session. This year's birthday theme was Snow While instead of her usual Hello Kitty Theme and I am glad that she loves her Snow White cake after I told her that Snow White is a Princess and Good Friends to Hello Kitty too coz all of them know each other in the cartoon world (opppsss .... a big white lie which works).


This year, little Annabelle is joining the celebration for the very first time :) Both are so delighted to see the cakes and little Annabelle can't wait to lay her hands on those pretty cakes, touching and dismantled all the leaves and pulling all the deco out when we are not looking too (>.<)


Then while we are snapping pictures happily and suddenly we heard a loud shout from Angel the birthday girl "MOMMY!!! LOOK WHAT ANNABELLE DID!!!!" and when we looked ......

Oh NO .... little Annabelle has pulled Snow White heads off from the cake while I saw tears started to form in her big round eyes although she tries to laugh it off :P Luckily I was quick enough to make a joke out of it and quickly fixed poor Snow White heads back to where it's suppose to be (with a missing nose which couldn't be fixed :( :( ) and glad that no one noticed the missing nose and quickly pull it over without bigger drama happening with a birthday song. Phew ......


Angel insisted to have the sparkled Candles at the side which truly scared both the girls away when it actually produced tiny little sparkles when lit O.o No more sparkled candles for her birthday as she puts it, because it looks scary acording to her :P :P



Angel got a lot of pressie from us and actually she had more but I have kept some of the gifts away and only to give her after some time. Her toy box are overloaded at grandma's!!!

And among those gifts, this is her most favourite gift which she got from her beloved Grandma! She purposely requested for a Notebook with a 'mouse' and her wish came through that night!

"WAAHHH!! Ah Mah, how you know I wanted this???!!!" She asked grandma with her big wide eyes opened! :P :P


Taa daaa ...... Below is the gift from Mommy, the full set of Dr. Seuss Collection which she loves it to bits day by day. Certainly one of the greatest gifts I have ever got for Angel (as per her requests) because I can see her giggle away happily every night whenever she reads them and still finds it amusing after reading them for 'n' times.

That's the magical part of Dr. Suess book. I must admit that I really think that it would be a very boring book just by looking at its simple sketches and story line until I really read them to Angel.

Now, I have learn something ...... Never judge a book by it's cover!!! :P

"Mommy, how do you know I wanted this Cat In The Hat Books too?? Huh? Huh? Tell me! Tell me!" :P :P Kids are so cute, aren't they :P


Just with a blow off the candles, my girl has turned 5. That night, while stroking her hair to sleep, I told Angel,

"Angel, you are growing up so fast :) Big girl already lo and few more years later, you can't stick to mommy like you used to already."

She was very kan-cheong and replied:

"But Mommy, I wish I can grow up slower ~~~. I want to grow up slowly and not too fast ok, mommy?? I want to be 5 years old long long long long time so that I can stick to mommy for long long long long time EVER and FOREVER."


Of course my Baby :) You would always be my Baby girl forever and ever and glad to have you in our live. Happy 5th Birthday Angel Darling!!! We love you so much!!

Happy 5th Birthday Angel - Part 1

Angel celebrates her 5th Birthday few weeks ago. My girl is 5 now!!!! Kids really grow up so fast, aren't they :)

And we had an early celebration with Hubby 1 week before her actual birthday and when asked about what birthday present that she wants, there she goes again," How I wish I have a Hello Kitty!"

Hello Kitty again?? She have way too many Hello Kitty already to be honest. Imagine, Hello Kitty for Christmas, Hello Kitty for birthday, Hello Kitty for New Year, Hello Kitty for Children's day, she wants Hello Kitty soft toys, Hello Kitty bags, Hello Kitty watches, Hello Kitty Bottle, Hello Kitty shirt, Hello Kitty panties, and Hello Kitty for basically EVERYTHING .... :( :( To the extreme, she even wants me to get her the Hello Kitty panty liner which she saw in Watson which I don't know why on earth does she need a panty liner!!! @_@

And she handpicked her own birthday cake too this year! And guess what, she insisted to have the same birthday cake as mommy's birthday last year (hubby bought me that cake for some reason!). Ok ok, since it's her birthday, she is the boss, no choice as long as she is happy.

Can't wait to see her cake! :P :P


*laugh* Yup, she got herself another Hello Kitty cake again!!!! And that's her 3rd consecutive year that she is having a Hello Kitty cake on her birthday!!! Sigh ..... Hello Kitty cake every year and still never gets bored, that's way too much! I am kind of having phobia when I saw another Hello Kitty cake already, no joking here .... *sweat*

But she is indeed very happy with her cake! She said to me, " Mommy, I feel GLAD that I have my Hello Kitty cake again!" *see??* A big Hello Kitty fan!!!


After the birthday song, we asked her to have the first bite of her cake cos it's her birthday! She stares at me for a moment then ....... she bite into poor Hello Kitty's ear :P The naughty daddy saw it and then suddenly pushed Angel face onto the cake ...... Muahahahaha!!!! A very 'creamy' birthday girl she has turned into :P :P



She can't stop laughing and laughing and laughing and laughing till she was rolling on the floor for daddy's naughty act! kekekekeke ..... she suggested that we have a cake fight and putting fresh cream on each other's face but NO THANKS my dear ..... we told her that only birthday girl gets to have such 'privilege" of having creams on her face, luckily she didn't pressed further *phew*

(Few days later, Annabelle saw Angel's video and pictures loaded with cream on her face and cried out very very loud!!!!! She is indeed horrified and told us "不要这样嘛！！！" and showing us the gesture not to push Angel's face onto the cake :P :P Poor Mei Mei Annabelle.)


At 5 years old, Angel got her first ever remote control mini bike from Daddy!!! :) :) Hubby said he was planning to get a remote helicopter for Angel at first but oh boy, I am so glad that he didn't or else, I will surely fainted!!!!!!

And look at the little girl's eyes ~~~, all brighten up and sparkled brightly when she saw her 1st remote control bike!! Seeing that she is so happy, we are very very happy too :) :) :)

p/s: and we have another celebration with her on her actual birthday itself. Too bad that her kindergarten doesn't allow birthday celebration in school.

1st Birthday Present from YiYi and Ah Gu

(Another belated post)

This is the first time that Annabelle receive birthday gifts from Yi Yi and Ah Gu for her 1st Birthday. But due to mommy's busy schedule and she is so cranky during her actual birthday night (time to sleep), she only gets to open those presents few weeks (yup!!) after her birthday.

This little girl didn't know how to blow her own birthday candle yet but when it comes to opening up presents, she needs minimum of help.

She is very curious wondering why there are something popping out from inside the ordinary looking bundle of "paper". She always takes them out so carefully :P



She got a Hello Kitty from Yi Yi!! I didn't expect that she would turned into a Hello Kitty fans one day too but looks like she is heading that direction as well *giggle*. When she got her first Hello Kitty, she poked its eyes, touch its' mouth and then squeezing it hard!



She is very reluctant to tear those wrapper off at first but she did :) She is a very gentle baby as oppose to her Angel Jie Jie but ........ not anymore.



I think she is so happy with this interactive book that her Ah Gu got for her. And her happiness is all written on her cute little face, isn't she?

Annabelle's First Gift From Mommy

My Annabelle is growing up into a happy and active 1Y8M toddler now but I still feel very much wanted to post this little picture of hers which I have done long before my 'long break' from the blogoshere :P :P

This is mommy's first dolly to my precious little Annabelle. She is a more girlie type of person as compare to her big sister but still, she prefers a musical interaction book or a moving toy car as to a soft toy. But this toy is different, because this doll is mommy's first gift to my little Annabelle ^_^ Sometimes she would find a toy bottle and shove it into the doll's mouth and pet her to sleep. She calls the doll - 'BB'.

She is so tiny then but now, she is no more this size ...... you and me will be amazed :P

Our Little Landlady's Chrismas Day

On our early Christmas morning, our little "包租婆" woke up in a very jolly mood. It's the day that she has been asking and waiting for so long!!! Gosh, where she learn to pose like that?!

Does she look alike the character of the infamous 包租婆 （Landlady） in the movie "Shoulin Football"??



Our little "包租婆" was so happy when I told her that she could open up her Christmas presents finally! She has been waiting for this moment for so many days since she got her first Christmas present from Aunty GX a week before Christmas ^_^



Yeah!! X'mas present from Daddy!! Actually this is not her first fishing set. I think it’s her 2nd or 3rd but she either lost all her fishes eventually or breaking the rod so she hasn't been seeing this toy for quite some time. She was extremely happy about her new fishing set and start squealing with delight :) But she was a bit upset for daddy wrapped mommy’s present in pink while hers in brown :P



Next is from Mommy! I don’t know what to get for her and then I came across a couple of nice children books and think that she might like them. And she surely does especially the 《鳄鱼怕怕，牙医怕怕》. She has been asking me to repeat and repeat that book for almost 5 days in a roll now ^_^ Chinese books are so complete and relatively cheap here in Shanghai and it’s such a waste if I do not add to her book collection while I am still here.



Aunty GX is so thoughtful to sent Our little "包租婆" a very nice Christmas gift all the way from Beijing too. She is so happy when she first received the parcel and thank you so much Aunty GX for your thoughtfulness! Our little "包租婆" love the set so much ^_^



Mommy got a gift from Daddy too ^_^ And of course Our little "包租婆" insisted it’s her gift instead and refuse to let go (as you can see from the picture!) She wants everything and everything belongs to her! @_@



This little bunny was a gift by Aunty A few days before Christmas. She loves bunny and will rock 'Pink Bunny' to sleep everyday.



Our Christmas lunch + dinner was a steamboat in Dolar Shop (豆捞坊) in 龙之梦 Shopping mall. The food served was so good!!!! Have you ever tried a “sea urchins” (海胆) meat ball before? It’s the picture on the lower right below (yellow + white colour) and oh my!! That’s the most delicious meat balls I have ever tried!!!! NO KIDDING!!!



One of the best steamboat I have ever had so far and I am still drooling over it when I saw the picture. I said it is our Christmas lunch + dinner coz the queue for this restaurant is incredibly insane hence we decided to go there at 4pm just to avoid the normal crowd and finally got a really nice window seat!! A steamboat restaurant not to be missed!



There, that’s how we spend our Christmas day in Shanghai. Tomorrow will be another new year for all of us hence a very Happy New Year 2011 to all of you, my friend!

The Lacing Beads

This is the newest addition I bought for Angel last month. The wooden beads are Thailand made (I bought in Bangkok) and very good quality too. They were made from soft rubberwood and painted in soy ink which is definitely safe for young toddlers, and comes with different shapes and colours with a tiny hole in the middle of the beads. Kids were required to thread the laces through the beads in order to make necklace or anything out of their imagination. I love the fact that it’s a very good toy for exposing young toddler to a new motor skill - Treading that is as I bet Angel didn’t get to do that quite often in her daily activities. Also, I think it’s also very good in showing young toddlers the logic of sequence as well as a good training for their hand-eye coordination.

I just couldn't have enough watching her looking 101% concentrated in getting the laces to pass through those beads but so far, she only manage to get few done before asking for help! It should be a good training for Angel’s patience as well because it’s not an easy task wanting an active kid like Angel to be able to sit still on her high chair and doing the treading process without making much noise or big movements. Once she is having enough of her treading which is only 5 - 10 minutes as a start, I would let her come down and start exercising her little muscles :) So far, I can only say that she is getting better in that area day by day ^_^ Way to go Angel!!!

Angel seldom looks so serious in playing with her new toy :) Can see that she is trying very very hard ^_^ Oh ..... I love the look so much!

Her Bolster Is So Tiny

Time to change Angel’s tiny little bolster I guess ….. can you see how little is her first bolster comparing to her new one? Although she doesn’t use them that often but still, hubby feels that his little girl would be more comfortable with a bolster by her side so I finally got a bigger one for her :) Although we have got her a new bolster but ironically, she still prefers her small old bolster more and you would see her tuck the tiny little bolster in between her legs where I could hardly see it anymore ….. she really is growing up so much by comparing the size of her 1st old bolster to her size now :) Oh …. How time flies :) :) I know kids are kind of addicted to the smell of their old belongings such as bolster / pillow / blanket / nappy, etc but seems like Angel does not have this addiction so far apart from her daddy who is constantly taking a sniff on Angel’s old bolster every night when he tuck her in. Opppssss …… LoL

Something Girlie Finally?

Angel loves practicing her football kicks and playing with her Thomas Train and toy cars at home most of the time. And now that she is getting expert in riding her bicycle, sometimes people will mistaken her for a boy when I actually dressed her up in T-shirt and pants :) I do notice activities which attract her interest longer and better would be boys’ activities and toys such as cars and moving vehicles, etc. She doesn’t fancy dolls at all and even if she was given one, she would just touch them here and there and then leave them at the corner after awhile and never look at them ever again.

But few weeks ago, she has got herself interested in something girlie to play with finally – the wooden vegetable cutting set! I think this is one simple yet interesting toy to have, and it can even polished up her motor skill too. It is so funny that the first time I handed her the cutting set, she really thought those are eatable stuffs and actually take a bite of the wooden apple and use the knife as if it’s a drum stick and hit on the wood veggie to make sound from it. She must have thought the toy is played that way *laugh*. When she saw how I cut those vegetable into half and then quarter, she actually exclaimed in a very high pitch “Wahhhh ~~” and then can’t wait to do it herself :) The looks on her face is simply adorable and worth every single penny spend :)

So these few weeks, I manage to keep her busy with her cutting set where I can do the real cooking in the kitchen. After she separated those vegetables piece by piece she would connect them back into their original form. These activities certainly is a very good trainings for her little hands and little brain. Apart from playing it the normal ways, I think she starts to throw them onto the floor and kicks them like a ball …….. ^_^III *sweating* I thought it suppose to be a girlie toy and play it the girlie way? @_@

Sorry!! ... First Watch.... MakeUp … Feet?

Sorry!!
While playing on our bed with Angel just now, my naughty little girl accidentally hit my face real hard, OOuchhh!!! That was really painful!!! She didn’t feel sorry about that, as usual, she starts to giggle out so loud and seems to be so happy that she sees I am twitching my face due to the pain :( So I just sat there, keep quite and look on the floor showing that I am sad ….. suddenly she stopped her giggles, coming near to me and gently put her hands on my face gazing at me, give me a kiss on the cheeks while putting on her sweetest smile then I heard “Sow – ry ~~! ” (Sorry). Oh …. My 2 year old is learning that word already??

No wonder few days ago while we was on the terribly crowded sky train and hubby carrying little Angel while trying to move out of the train saying “Excuse Me ….. Excuse Me …..” and I heard my girl’s voice saying “Sow – ry ….. Sow – ry …..” I thought I heard that wrongly but now I know that she really says 'Sorry'! that day.

First Watch
Daddy got Angel her very first watch last weekend. It’s a Red Mickey Mouse cartoon watch with a changeable watch cover. I asked hubby why he suddenly got a watch for Angel as I have been wanted to buy a watch for her but hubby always says “No!” and now he is getting them for her instead. Then hubby told me Angel keep looking at them and say “Kii-Mouse (Mickey Mouse) I guess this Daddy wants to make his little girl happy himself :P

Well … I think the money is well spent as Angel has been wearing the watch every single morning she wakes up till the time she takes it off for her nap. Surprisingly the covers of the watch is still attached to it’s place so far :)

Makeup
Girl is always girl ….. I thought my tom-boyish Angel will be very tom-boy but instead, I noticed that she loves to be pretty and always insisted that I also put moisturisers or do makeup for her when she saw me standing in front of my dressing table. So everytime before going out, I will HAVE to pretend to do some make up for her and she will shut her eyes and not make a move letting me get my job done. After that, she would give me a super duper sweet smile and saying: “ 美美 ~~” (pretty). Oh …. My little vain pot she is :) I guess from now on, I should probably keep all my makeup in a safer place just in case …..

Who’s Feet Is That?
Angel loves to peep underneath our doors at home lately despite I told her not to do so! Is it a growing up phase as I remember when I was a kid, I like to do that too and it was fun, guessing who will come behind the door next. Few days ago when I was reading some magazine inside the room with door close, I saw her laying down on the floor peeping out underneath our door again so I wasn’t paying much attention to her (coz I just mop the floor that evening so it shouldn't be that dirty) then suddenly she moved herself backwards from the bedroom doors moving like a snake and told me, “Oh~~ FEET!! …. PAPA!!! ” then comes hubby opening the door entering our room. Then minutes later, she said “Oh~~ FEET!! Ah Ma (grandmother)! ” and there comes my mom knocking at our doors. She actually recognised us by feet already LoL No wonder in the morning I always heard her saying “FEET!! Ma-mi …..” outside my room before I came out. I didn't even recognised my own feet till now LoL

*Today, I also noticed Angel is peeping underneath our front door (wooden door) just to wait for daddy to come back from work LoL

My Parcel Is Finally Here!

This is one of the most awaited package for so long. Of all the items inside the box, the first items I was most looking forward to is Angel’s long awaited Ave*t bottles. I am glad that I am finally holding onto the duo pack bottles after a good ½ year of anticipation for them.



Why the wait??? Look closely, it may seems like one of Angel’s normal Ave*t bottle but it’s not!! It’s the new improved BPA FREE bottles from Av*nt - FINALLY!!!! Look at it’s colour in the right picture below, the BPA Free bottle (on the right) has a slight golden tint as compare to the normal clear ones (on the left). I think I like the colour very much and even hubby says Angel’s new bottles look so cool !! LoL



Angel just love the bottle from Ave*t’s so much and refuse to take any other brand although I am a bit concern about the BPA issues all these while. But now, I am very thankful that they have finally come up with the BPA FREE bottles and I could have a peace of mind with my little Angel’s feeding bottles at last :)

* However, all my Ave*t bottles will somehow leak at the bottle neck part after some time for some reason even though I have checked the teats was properly inserted and tighten. Anyone experiencing this as well and know why??

Angel’s 2 Y.O. Birthday Gifts [Back Dated]
