Something Girlie Finally?

Angel loves practicing her football kicks and playing with her Thomas Train and toy cars at home most of the time. And now that she is getting expert in riding her bicycle, sometimes people will mistaken her for a boy when I actually dressed her up in T-shirt and pants :) I do notice activities which attract her interest longer and better would be boys’ activities and toys such as cars and moving vehicles, etc. She doesn’t fancy dolls at all and even if she was given one, she would just touch them here and there and then leave them at the corner after awhile and never look at them ever again.

But few weeks ago, she has got herself interested in something girlie to play with finally – the wooden vegetable cutting set! I think this is one simple yet interesting toy to have, and it can even polished up her motor skill too. It is so funny that the first time I handed her the cutting set, she really thought those are eatable stuffs and actually take a bite of the wooden apple and use the knife as if it’s a drum stick and hit on the wood veggie to make sound from it. She must have thought the toy is played that way *laugh*. When she saw how I cut those vegetable into half and then quarter, she actually exclaimed in a very high pitch “Wahhhh ~~” and then can’t wait to do it herself :) The looks on her face is simply adorable and worth every single penny spend :)

So these few weeks, I manage to keep her busy with her cutting set where I can do the real cooking in the kitchen. After she separated those vegetables piece by piece she would connect them back into their original form. These activities certainly is a very good trainings for her little hands and little brain. Apart from playing it the normal ways, I think she starts to throw them onto the floor and kicks them like a ball …….. ^_^III *sweating* I thought it suppose to be a girlie toy and play it the girlie way?

May be should get more 'pinkish' item for her to play...may be not the time yet...wait for another few more months then buy a more 'real' masak masak stuff n you play with her...make it more interesting like you are cooking the 'vege' n making 'tea' with her masak masak..I believe girlie stuff can be trained...:-)

Dear All, thanks for the sweet comments :) I enjoy reading your every single post so much :)
.
Merryn and Bonnie, I think maybe the toy is meant for girls but as long as mommy don't mind, why not? All those famous chef in the prestige restaurants and hotels are male too so apart from in the kitchen, cooking is male’s territory as well :P :P

I do wish that there's something that can entertain Ashton while I'm cooking. He just won't back-out from the kitchen. Always pointing to the hot stoves and make this hissing sound "ffff" as in hot.. and I'm really scared if he were to touch them...

MommyAngel said...

Esmeralda, oh ... Ashton also behave like Angel. Normally I will switch on Mr. Bean when I am in the kitchen and let her play with her toys ... it can keep her entertain for awhile actually.

Same lah, Sarah also doesn't like dolls from she was a baby till now. When I gave her a barbie doll, she just opened her legs widely till the legs falls apart. Cham mor!

The cooking set very cute and educational. Where did you bought it?
Is it the first set of cooking set Angel has?

Esmeralda said...

Too bad nothing can entertain Ashton when I'm in the kitchen. He's definitely to come in and peek at me, and grab most of my cooking utensils...

MommyAngel said...

Joanne, hahahaha … open the Barbie legs until the legs fall apart? I think Angel will do the same too coz last time when I was still a kid, I like to twist the neck of the doll until the head come off for some reason leh, I am even worst! :P I hope Angel won’t do that thought ….
- I bought those at KK when I go back to hometown :) Nope, that’s not Angel’s first set of toy but she prefer this longer then others lo, very interesting game for kids I think :)

Esmeralda, Hahahaha …. Seems like you will have a ‘helper’ in the kitchen all the time :) Wonder how you still manage to cook ya?

That's why sometimes I really have to start preparing for dinner way ahead of time, especially in the afternoon when he can sit down watch his tv for a little while longer after his meal. So usually my preparation time will start around 1pm, to be continued as and when Ashton is not disturbing me... I can't prepare things around 5pm - that would mean we have to take-away or call Pizza Hut Delivery... :P

MommyAngel said...

Esmeralda, wow .... seems like our schedule is almost the same too apart from I start as early as I am cooking Angel's meal in the morning coz normally, after 12pm, it's the time she is more clingy so I will stop once she make noise and continue when she is having her naps. And now that sometimes she don't even wants to take nap, that's when I will ask hubby to ta-pao :) Yes .... if I have not get things prepared at around 5pm or so, no cooking for me liao :)

Esmeralda said...

High 5! Seems like we hv the same kind of clingy kids! Sometimes we'll dine out too if hubby comes back early..

MommyAngel said...

Esmeralda, oh ... really? My hubby is a very strange type, he don't like to dine out :( Too bad for me ya?

Esmeralda said...

Just too bad ya Caroline.. my hubby loves to bring us to dine out on weekends... and he loves fine dining too.. so can u imagine where my big belly and fats come from??? *sigh* Been having fine dining almost every week for the past months!

MommyAngel said...

Esmeralda, it's so nice that your hubby enjoys fine dining ..... no, I am still wondering how come you are still so slim??!!!! My hubby enjoy his meal most when he is eating at home ..... too bad ya!

Esmeralda said...

Haha.. you only saw my picture from afar - my fats are all hidden under my clothes... so can't see lar....

Your cooking skills must be really good, that's why outside food no longer attracts him.. not like my cooking... ;)

MommyAngel said...

Esmeralda, if those fat can be hidden somewhere, it's not that bad at all :P

Oh no ... my cooking skills are not good at all and I don't really like cooking too, maybe my hubby is not those picky eaters and he is willing to eat anything that I cook :)

I am sure that you know how to cook well, just that you don't need to :)

Esmeralda said...

You're just being modest Caroline.. I believe your cooking skills are great! Sometimes I do think that I've been cooking repetitive menus... *sigh*

MommyAngel said...

Esmeralda, hahahaha ..... as long as our men love it, repetitive menus is not a bad thing :)
