But hey!!  What can a 5-year-old worried until white hair starts popping out from this kiddo's head?

A Very Special Lantern From Mommy

I have always wanted to make a real lantern for my girls but just do not know where to start. Until this year before the Lantern Festival, I really couldn't find a decent lantern for the girls back home while Angel was asking for a 'candle' lantern instead of those electronics light bulbed lantern, then I have no choice but to make one myself.

And believe me, it's not an easy job for a Mommy!!!  (Mommy doesn't program to make lanterns ok??  hahahaha.)  Luckily all the materials were source before our return from China which makes things less hassle. I think I would have running around like a mad woman for I really have no idea where can I get all the material here.

Initially, I was so naive that hoping both girls could participate in the lantern making process. But at the end, Angel grab hold of the glue and start glueing whatever objects she could find, dancing around with the dangerous wire poking everything and everyone, deliberately cutting my hard work - the paper dots I cut for decorations into half (I really can't believe she done that!!!!), tangling the strings I used to hang those lanterns and then start using the lantern stick as a sword hitting almost everything that she could find, etc etc etc  ....... then I give up!! This process is totally insane and mission impossible with a very active kid who doesn't take instruction and wants to make destruction around!! So after putting both girls to sleep, with a very sleepy eyes while I have a heavy head due to the flu bug attacking me (call that lucky!!!) yet still burning midnight oil for 2 days, Finally, mommy's first ever lantern for both girls are done!! Yippie!!

Well as their wishes .... Annabelle asked for a Furry Bunny design while Angel wanted so much for a Colourful Polka Dots Bunny Lantern :) Angel did help to cut some of the dots used for her bunny and we are so please with the design :)

I am so glad that the lantern was complete just in time!!  So later of the day, we brought both girls to attend the Lantern Party at our neighbourhood and they are having such a blast!  I think both of them are so happy asking mommy to relight the candle inside their lantern as the strong wind blows it off every 10 minutes.  But hey, that's the FUN part of having a candle lighted lantern, isn't it?  ^_^

I really miss those days when we are still carrying those traditional lanterns and those "lantern burning" experience which bound to be happen sooner or later and would guess whose lantern will get burned first!!  Hehehehe ....  but but but, having to say that, I do hope both Annabelle and Angel will not burned down mommy's "hard work" so fast and before the real Lantern Festival Day.

Well, another wished/dreams fulfilled for me and my girls!!

I do hope that some day when they are older, they will still remember that their Mommy ever make them their very own lantern once open a time ...... ^_^

Happy Lantern Festival to All Ya ^_^
And hoping everyone will have a blast time celebrating with family and friends ^_^

Happy 5th Birthday Angel - Part 2

Oh dear ..... Angel's birthday posts still not yet completed till now so ok, I will make it a quick one coz I have been dragging it for way too long :P

She was dressed like a Princess (Snow White is a Princess too right? :P) and she was very happy indeed.

On the day itself, lovely grandma has prepared Angel's usual birthday meal with Mee Suah + a very huge drumstick + red eggs. She requested for pure grapes juice too which she doesn't gets to drink very often and wallop up everything in satisfaction!

And then, she requested for her sandwich 'in bento' style after her afternoon bath 1 hour later! A girl with big appetite!! Luckily grandma is a very handy person and came out with those lovely heart shaped chicken sandwiches in no time and makes her a very happy birthday girl :) :)

We had a simple dinner at T.H western restaurant with our immediate family members and the highlight of the night was the cake cutting session. This year's birthday theme was Snow While instead of her usual Hello Kitty Theme and I am glad that she loves her Snow White cake after I told her that Snow White is a Princess and Good Friends to Hello Kitty too coz all of them know each other in the cartoon world (opppsss .... a big white lie which works).

This year, little Annabelle is joining the celebration for the very first time :) Both are so delighted to see the cakes and little Annabelle can't wait to lay her hands on those pretty cakes, touching and dismantled all the leaves and pulling all the deco out when we are not looking too (>.<)

Then while we are snapping pictures happily and suddenly we heard a loud shout from Angel the birthday girl "MOMMY!!! LOOK WHAT ANNABELLE DID!!!!" and when we looked ......

Oh NO .... little Annabelle has pulled Snow White heads off from the cake while I saw tears started to form in her big round eyes although she tries to laugh it off :P Luckily I was quick enough to make a joke out of it and quickly fixed poor Snow White heads back to where it's suppose to be (with a missing nose which couldn't be fixed :( :( ) and glad that no one noticed the missing nose and quickly pull it over without bigger drama happening with a birthday song. Phew ......

Angel insisted to have the sparkled Candles at the side which truly scared both the girls away when it actually produced tiny little sparkles when lit O.o No more sparkled candles for her birthday as she puts it, because it looks scary acording to her :P :P

Angel got a lot of pressie from us and actually she had more but I have kept some of the gifts away and only to give her after some time. Her toy box are overloaded at grandma's!!!

A very happy girl posing with all her gifts! She would exclaimed out loud each time she opened up a gift :) :)

And among those gifts, this is her most favourite gift which she got from her beloved Grandma! She purposely requested for a Notebook with a 'mouse' and her wish came through that night!

"WAAHHH!! Ah Mah, how you know I wanted this???!!!" She asked grandma with her big wide eyes opened! :P :P

Taa daaa ...... Below is the gift from Mommy, the full set of Dr. Seuss Collection which she loves it to bits day by day. Certainly one of the greatest gifts I have ever got for Angel (as per her requests) because I can see her giggle away happily every night whenever she reads them and still finds it amusing after reading them for 'n' times.

That's the magical part of Dr. Suess book. I must admit that I really think that it would be a very boring book just by looking at its simple sketches and story line until I really read them to Angel.

Now, I have learn something ...... Never judge a book by it's cover!!! :P

"Mommy, how do you know I wanted this Cat In The Hat Books too?? Huh? Huh? Tell me! Tell me!" :P :P Kids are so cute, aren't they :P

Just with a blow off the candles, my girl has turned 5. That night, while stroking her hair to sleep, I told Angel,

"Angel, you are growing up so fast :) Big girl already lo and few more years later, you can't stick to mommy like you used to already."

She was very kan-cheong and replied:

"But Mommy, I wish I can grow up slower ~~~. I want to grow up slowly and not too fast ok, mommy?? I want to be 5 years old long long long long time so that I can stick to mommy for long long long long time EVER and FOREVER."

Of course my Baby :) You would always be my Baby girl forever and ever and glad to have you in our live. Happy 5th Birthday Angel Darling!!! We love you so much!!

Happy 5th Birthday Angel - Part 1

Angel celebrates her 5th Birthday few weeks ago. My girl is 5 now!!!! Kids really grow up so fast, aren't they :)

And we had an early celebration with Hubby 1 week before her actual birthday and when asked about what birthday present that she wants, there she goes again," How I wish I have a Hello Kitty!"

Hello Kitty again?? She have way too many Hello Kitty already to be honest. Imagine, Hello Kitty for Christmas, Hello Kitty for birthday, Hello Kitty for New Year, Hello Kitty for Children's day, she wants Hello Kitty soft toys, Hello Kitty bags, Hello Kitty watches, Hello Kitty Bottle, Hello Kitty shirt, Hello Kitty panties, and Hello Kitty for basically EVERYTHING .... :( :( To the extreme, she even wants me to get her the Hello Kitty panty liner which she saw in Watson which I don't know why on earth does she need a panty liner!!! @_@

And she handpicked her own birthday cake too this year! And guess what, she insisted to have the same birthday cake as mommy's birthday last year (hubby bought me that cake for some reason!). Ok ok, since it's her birthday, she is the boss, no choice as long as she is happy.

Can't wait to see her cake! :P :P

*laugh* Yup, she got herself another Hello Kitty cake again!!!! And that's her 3rd consecutive year that she is having a Hello Kitty cake on her birthday!!! Sigh ..... Hello Kitty cake every year and still never gets bored, that's way too much! I am kind of having phobia when I saw another Hello Kitty cake already, no joking here .... *sweat*

But she is indeed very happy with her cake! She said to me, " Mommy, I feel GLAD that I have my Hello Kitty cake again!" *see??* A big Hello Kitty fan!!!

After the birthday song, we asked her to have the first bite of her cake cos it's her birthday! She stares at me for a moment then ....... she bite into poor Hello Kitty's ear :P The naughty daddy saw it and then suddenly pushed Angel face onto the cake ...... Muahahahaha!!!! A very 'creamy' birthday girl she has turned into :P :P

She can't stop laughing and laughing and laughing and laughing till she was rolling on the floor for daddy's naughty act! kekekekeke ..... she suggested that we have a cake fight and putting fresh cream on each other's face but NO THANKS my dear ..... we told her that only birthday girl gets to have such 'privilege" of having creams on her face, luckily she didn't pressed further *phew*

(Few days later, Annabelle saw Angel's video and pictures loaded with cream on her face and cried out very very loud!!!!! She is indeed horrified and told us "不要这样嘛!!!" and showing us the gesture not to push Angel's face onto the cake :P :P Poor Mei Mei Annabelle.)

At 5 years old, Angel got her first ever remote control mini bike from Daddy!!! :) :) Hubby said he was planning to get a remote helicopter for Angel at first but oh boy, I am so glad that he didn't or else, I will surely fainted!!!!!!

And look at the little girl's eyes ~~~, all brighten up and sparkled brightly when she saw her 1st remote control bike!! Seeing that she is so happy, we are very very happy too :) :) :)

Happy 5th Birthday my girl.

p/s: and we have another celebration with her on her actual birthday itself. Too bad that her kindergarten doesn't allow birthday celebration in school.

Where Is My Telephone?

One evening after Angel woke up from her nap

A: Mommy!!! Where is my 'telephone'???
M: Huh?? What telephone? You don't have a telephone.

A: I have!!!
M: Where you get a telephone? *curious*

A: I make it myself just now.
M: Huh?? You "make" a telephone? I didn't see you "make" any telephone just now.

A: I DID!!! I DID!!!

Then she suddenly pull out a piece of folded paper from the pile of waste paper that I was about to throw away later.

A: Phew!! There it is~~~~, MY Telephone!!

And when I look closer, I saw this .....

That day she also done a lollipop all by herself and proudly show it to everyone! She is indeed a very handy little girl :)

When put aside of those naughty moments which I have lost count, most of the time this little girl is just like a little magician with her little magic potion that will never fail to put a smile on my face at the end of the day ^_^

Outgrow Her Baby Cot Soon [4Y11M]

Tomorrow, my little baby in the picture below will turn 5 years old ..... time really flies! Whenever I saw her baby pictures, I would exclaim: "Oh ~~~ , so chubby and so cute she was!"

Looks like little Angel will outgrow her sleeping cot very soon too. She has been sleeping in it for the past 5 years and time to pass her bed to little Annabelle ?

Height: 109cm
Weight: 20kg

Hobby: Copycat everything and every action mommy is doing! She even wants to wear the same clothing, same shoes, zipped her jacket the same way up, clipped the hair the same position, eat the same food, picked up the fork the same time, flipping the same page of book and even drink the water the same style and same time with me. *laugh*

Not Every Kid Loves Disneyland

The school holiday is just over and we are back to our busy daily routine, waking up very early in the morning before my eyes were 100% 'awake' trying to beat the traffic to Angel's school.

School holiday mood is still all over us and innitially we were planning to go to HK Disneyland during the last school holiday but, we didn't make it at the end due to 'someone' is totally against it :(

Who?? Who else could it be??? Sigh ....

^ ^ I miss Disneyland HK, photo taken in Feb 2011

I thought that all kids would love Disneyland and it's everyone's dream to be in Disneyland (I do, although I am no longer qualify to be a kid long time ago) but I guess not for my little Angel.

We was there during Chinese New Year 2011 and she did enjoy playing in the maze behind of the hotel and also her big big ice cream cone ....

She also enjoy playing in the little activity room downstairs at the Disneyland Hotel and also have a whale of a time swimming in the hotel's big big bath tub ......

What she enjoyed the most was the 24 hours cartoon network in our room, refusing to go anywhere else but jumping on the bed doing all sort of acrobatic moves ...... *sweating*

Apart from that, I guess she doesn't like any of the rides and games in this fairyland.

And when the highlight of the entire journey - finally meeting with Mickey and Minnie that she absolutely adores in the TV, suddenly she cried out loud:

"Why they all are here?!!!!!! Why they come out from the TV?!!!! I don't want to see them here!!!! Wuahhhhh~~~~~" *She cried*

She refused to even take a look at them and her entire face turned sore! After a long session of crying while hiding under chairs and running away from the restaurant numerous time, we managed to settle her down making her gobble down some of the food. But her face looks absolutely pale and not happy at all!

My Poor baby! :(

Then after Mickey left, suddenly the crowd started to cheer on the other side of the restaurant ushering Goofy who is walking towards our direction, then suddenly I heard a very loud bawl,

"HUH!!!!!! NOT AGAIN~~~~!!!!! Heeiiiiiii YAAAAAA ~~~!!!!!! WHY GOOFY ALSO COME HERE AHHHHHHHHH ~~~~!!!!!!!" *bawled so loudly that everyone stares at us*

"MOMMY!!!!! I DON'T WANT THEM HERE!!! Huuu huu huuu ~~~~ Who asked them to come here????!!!!!!!!! Go away!!!! GO AWAY ~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I guess she just does not like the idea of all the cartoon characters all coming to life in front of her very own eyes. She is totally terrified by them looking so much bigger then in the TV and keep crying and bawling till her face looks like she was going to throw up any minute @_@ Poor little Angel.

So finally, after a few minute of watching them come and go plus constant crying wanted to leave the restaurant, she finally agrees to take just 1 individual photo with Mickey Mouse (so that she has something to show grandma) with the condition that we must leave the restaurant and never come back again.

What a waste of such nice and expensive buffet breakfast ..... :( She also refused to go into Disneyland afraid that she would bump into Mickey Mouse or any of his friends too :(

^ ^ A very rare photo of Angel with Mickey and it's very precious!

And now that she will be 5 next week and we thought that we would give her a real magical tour again, but she told us she doesn't want to go to Disneyland again, just because Mickey, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy were all in there @_@.

So, this school holiday, we ended up in KL visiting grandparent and family and then heading back to KK again, then fly back to the cold windy Shanghai instead of my favourite HK enjoying sunshine and great food.

We did have a great school break though and the holiday mood is still very much here for me.

The next school holiday will be in May and I think I am more anticipated then Angel looking forward for the day to come so that we could travel somewhere else again and sleep late!!! :P I am still in the midst of adjusting my biological clock trying to wake up at 6.15am every morning during school days. *yawning*

I Found The Little Angel In Her

I was having a terrible tummy ache and our little girl has been asking me out for a pizza for days. Hubby was attending his usual 'business' dinner with his clients and will be heading home late. I was lying in bed when she woke up from her long nap and without being helped, she got herself all dressed up in her outdoor outfit, walked into my room ready to get going while she saw me still not getting ready yet lying lifelessly on bed.

"Angel, mommy is having a tummy ache so we might not be going for a pizza today ok?" I said

She looked at me and frown then suddenly putting both her hands on my tummy and pressed hard while I was groaning in pain and asked what was she doing.

"Mommy, I massage your tummy ah ...."

"If mommy's tummy pain-pain nevermind la, we go next time la." Then still with her outdoor outfit on, she went back to her room and watched the TV without protesting for the sudden changed of plans.

Ater few hours tossing and turning on the bed, I drag myself up and get changed as I have a promise to keep. It's heart breaking to see disappointment in my girls' eyes especially when she is being such an angel. When she saw me get ready to go, her eyes all brighten up and jumping around in joy while repeating "Mommy, I love you so-very much mommy!" *kids are so easy to please*

So we walked down the streets, a very windy night at 10pm where most shops have closed and our girl who normally refused me to hold her hands who always jumping and doing her dangerous hip hop moves on the streets, grasp my hand tightly *surprise* while constantly checking on me

"Mommy, is your tummy still (in) pain? I hold your hand ok? We walk slowly ok? Is that slow-slow enough mommy?" She really doesn't sound like the normal loud and noisy little girl that she was.

Luckily, the pizza shop is opened 24 hours *yeah*. As I climbed up the stairs, she hold on tight to my hands tightly and said

"Mommy, you walk slowly ok?"

"Mommy, don't worry, I will listen to you and not make you angry ok?"

I look at my girl unbelievably and with a feeling of contentedness which I never felt before. ^_^

^ ^ Looking at the menu to see what's she wants to eat

So she ordered her own food *I didn't know she could do that* for the very first time, eating herself without being constantly reminded to and even helped me to 'take care' of my mobile phone when I was walking to get our drinks from the counter.

^ ^ Little pussy cat ^_^

On the way back, we were making stops all the way home because this little constantly hugging both my legs repeatedly and the only words she said to me was

"Mommy, I love you so-very much!" ^_^ That's the sweetest magic potion on earth and I feels so warm holding her little hands in mine walking down the windy lane.

When we headed back home, she didn't protest like she normally does. She gets herself changed back to her pajamas, hang all her clothes back to where they should be and even helped me to do the dishes in the kitchen, sweep the floor, gets the mop ready for me and then watched her cartoon without ..... without creating any 'trouble' at all.

She even helped me to fetch my pajamas when I was about to take my bath and even helped me to blow dry my hair ^_^ I am being served like a queen ^_^

Tonight was so incredibly ..... Warm and PEACEFUL, for once since many many months years ago. There was once crossed my mind that how nice that it would be if I can be sick more often I am healthy and well while she will behave so angelically for the rest of her growing years.

Tonight, I am smiling in my dream because .......

~~~~ I finally get a little glimpse of that little ANGEL in my girl ^_^ ~~~~
Angel Is 4 Years Old
So fast that Angel is turning 4!! I have always wanted to bake her a personal birthday cake and since I don't have an oven at my present house, I booked myself for a DIY baking session in a baking school for my big project but end up, our busy-body handy little birthday girl wants to play Angel-The-Baker instead and gets her own birthday cake done. ^_^
I was so amazed that she could almost do all the little measuring and mixing job perfectly! What a handy little girl she was and what was I doing then? Well ..... I became her assistant instead and proudly standing there smiling and 'entertaining' everyone who came over praising how well my little girl can handle the job! Something which is a bit out of planned actually *smiling embarrassingly*
Looking at her pouring and asking for help along the way telling me that my little girl is not a baby anymore which almost brings happy tears to my eyes :P :P. She was fully concentrated at ‘her project’ (not mine anymore, urrgghhh!) and even asked me to move my hands away from the utensils and telling me, "Mommy, I can do it all by myself!!" @_@
While waiting for the cake to settle, we pay for another cookie baking session. Now I can see that by playing her play dough at home really does polish up her motor skills perfectly :D
However, the cookie dough which we made seems to be a bit dry but the shop assistant assuring that it's alright. Urrggghhh ...... but Angel did have a great time moulding the cookies and even ran to others table and asked to help them moulding their dough! *embarrassing* However, those cookies turn out so well that Angel almost finished it off before we gets home!
When asked what birthday decorations she wants for the cake, she still asked for the same hello kitty cake! Ghee ..... she already had a Hello Kitty Cake (from Secret Recipe) which makes her on top of the world on her 3rd birthday and another Hello Kitty cake again this year?? After much persuasion for picking another cake, then she unwillingly asked for Tom and Jerry cake (pointing to Tom!!). Huh, Tom ?? Let's try again and this round she asked for a 'Wolf' cake! Huh?? A wolf cake?? Gosh ..... (slap forehead) Among the 3 choices, she will be having either a very cute hello kitty cake which she loves vs 2nd choice a Tom and Jerry cake vs a 3rd choice a wolf cake (huh?!!!) So you can easily guess which cake a mommy will choose for her little girl, right? :P *wipe sweat*
A Tiramisu Hello Kitty Cake as per our Princess wish! :) However, mommy was so eager to cream up the cake (1st time ma and the fun is unstoppable :P) and then ends up, she is having a Tiramisu cake loaded with fresh cream! *:P*
Of course, our little girl was so happy with her cake and told daddy that she is the one who baked the cake ‘all by herself’ and also helping with the decorations ^_^
When the clock strikes 12am, we brought the birthday girl into the room with her eyes covered and with her birthday girl party hat on! ^_^ She couldn't believe her eyes when she saw that we got her all those gifts and keep asking is it real that it's her birthday and she gets to open up all her gifts? That put a smile on my face to know that she is so happy ^_^
As the Hello Kitty Cake doesn't consider a surprise for her anymore, we decided to brighten up her days further with another Haagen Dazs Princess Cake on her birthday morning. She is a big fan of ice cream which she doesn't get many chances to indulge in. So her big day is an exceptional day for all she has wished for. The ice cream cake taste so great!! Yummy!
The smile on our little girl's face is definitely priceless!
To me, to see her living each day happily is my greatest pride and satisfaction being a mom! She doesn't need all those candles to brighten up her cute little face but I do need all those candles to remind me of how fast that our little girl has actually grown up, that I wanted to treasure each and every moment that she is still attaching to me like a leech and shouting for me, "mommy! mommy!" hundreds and hundreds time each and everyday for even the tiniest matters.
I will forgive all her mischievous and crankiness while trying my best to discipline her without spanking as I know one day, when all the wrong, bad behaviour or her mischievous stopped, it's time for me to let go while she, will be venturing her own life and having her own little family ahead, with or without mommy and daddy.
She would then pursue her dreams and chasing for her wishes while both mommy and daddy would watch her with our pride telling everyone that this is our girl that we brought up, hard and sweat! ^_^
I just hope that she could feels deep down inside that how much we loved her and how much we will loved her forever. And trying beyond all we might just to give her the most happy childhood life that we could provide not in terms of material wise but something inside her heart!
“My little Angel, mommy and daddy's wishes for so x 10 many greatest things for you just to tell you how much we love you. But all and all, it only came down to 4 little words that we hope that you could remember, that is "WE LOVE YOU" ... more then you could have ever known.”
Blow out those little candles my little Angel! Mommy and Daddy wishes you a very Happy and full of love 4th Birthday!
