My Parcel Is Finally Here!

This is one of the most awaited package for so long. Of all the items inside the box, the first items I was most looking forward to is Angel’s long awaited Ave*t bottles. I am glad that I am finally holding onto the duo pack bottles after a good ½ year of anticipation for them.

Why the wait??? Look closely, it may seems like one of Angel’s normal Ave*t bottle but it’s not!! It’s the new improved BPA FREE bottles from Av*nt - FINALLY!!!! Look at it’s colour in the right picture below, the BPA Free bottle (on the right) has a slight golden tint as compare to the normal clear ones (on the left). I think I like the colour very much and even hubby says Angel’s new bottles look so cool !! LoL

Angel just love the bottle from Ave*t’s so much and refuse to take any other brand although I am a bit concern about the BPA issues all these while. But now, I am very thankful that they have finally come up with the BPA FREE bottles and I could have a peace of mind with my little Angel’s feeding bottles at last :)

* However, all my Ave*t bottles will somehow leak at the bottle neck part after some time for some reason even though I have checked the teats was properly inserted and tighten. Anyone experiencing this as well and know why??

Is PBA free bottle can really affect on our children.... I am using "Pigeon" wide bottles neck, for my 1st and handed down to my 2nd... only change the nipples. SO sayang to throw them away.... Maybe I might get a new one if I do get pregnant 3rd time one day.. hehe
Thanks for the award.....

my gal is using "Pigeon" bottle feeding set too, but, must be very careful since is bottle. So, i might think to change the Avent feeding set for her too so that she can hold the bottle herself.

yea.. I have just bought 10 BPA free Avent bottles for my 2nd BB... :) since it was having sales right now at myBBstore.com

I stopped Chloe from using the old Avent bottles ever since the BPA issues arose immediately...

she is using Bfree at the moment but I find the valve (middle part of the bottle) is so hard & tedious to cash as compare to Avent.. and decided to use Avent BPA free bottles for BB2 again..

will do the post up soon coz my camera KO & in the service center now.. *sob sob*

>I know some mothers don't really bother and continue using the old Avent.. but I cannot loh.. :P

Cath, Last time I used to use Pigeon Wide Neck Bottle as well and once I tried Avent for my girl, she don’t want Pigeon anymore, hahahaha.

Yugene, then you can save some money on his bottle lo. But will it takes very long time for him to drink milk if he is using cups? I got mine for RM89.90, no discount at that time.

Linda, there is a lot of BPA free debates on that so I guess in some sense, it does affect our bb or else, Avent wouldn’t have come out with the BPA free bottles right?
- You don’t change your bb bottles? I changed Angel’s bottle and nipples every 3 months time so normally I will keep a lot of stocks.
- I feel saying to throw those bottles away too so most of the time but I just close my eyes and throw it away lo. If somebody don’t mind to use it I will give it to them also.
- wah … you are thinking for no. 3 too ya? That’s great. I don’t even dare to think of no.2 yet, Hahahaha ……

MumyGwen, those bottles I got it from lilcaliph but now littlewhiz have 20% discount leh, go check it out. A lot of mommies here are using Pigeon. I like that bottle very much too but guess not Angel’s bottle of milk :)

Anggie, Oh … you’ve got them too :) Only for 2nd bb? Why your 1st bb don’t get new one from mummy leh? Time to change the bottles too ma :P :P

Mumy Ryan, I got mine from lilcaliph for RM89.90 but now littlewhiz have 20% discount leh, go check it out ya.

Cadbury, another pigeon baby :) I think it’s worth to invest in a BPA free bottle and littlewhiz have 20% discount leh, go check it out ya.

Agnes, wow … way to go, 10 bottles!!! I won’t bought that much coz I am afraid that she will stopped using her bottle one day and I don’t have baby no. 2 to pass on to at this moment, kekekeke ……
- I have got BFree bottles and sippy cup for Angel too but like you’ve said, she still prefers Avent (when using BFree, she drink less) and won’t even want to drink from her BFree sippy cup. So what have you done to your BFree ‘stocks’ at the end?
- Wow …. Camera KO = new camera is on the way la?? Hahahaha

Rachel, NUK is a very good choice too but sometimes a bit hard to find the bottles in the market as compare to avent and pigeon, will it?

Ummi, another Pigeon babies :) I love Pigeon’s wide neck bottles :) Actually like you too, I am only using Avent bottles and teats but as for the bottle cleaser, wet wipes, feeding set, spoons, straw cup, etc I am using Pigeon too :)

PeiWun, I don’t see it on the shelf in the market yet. I purchase mine online as mention above :)

Merryn, oh …. Trust me, they looks nice (so far) and will not appear to be dirty. Previously, Avent manage to come out with such crystal clear bottles which no one else does is because they are using polycarbonate (which is an unsafe material to use as feeding bottles) so now since it raises an issue of BPA on our babies, they have no choice but to come out with a BPA FREE bottles which white crystal clear is impossible to achieve. But I kind of like it in that natural colour, how I wish they could add in some pink or blue to cover up those yellow colour and it surely will look more nice :)

Im still using the old Avent bottles. Im not that kiasu seriously but well, better be safe than sorry yeah?

So far, I dont have any issues with leaking bottleneck. I even use Pureen wideneck bottle nipples in Avent bottles and they work fine for me.

Sasha Tan said...

how about the teat? is it BPA free also?

chooi peng said...

mine have the leaking problem too... but so far on the M size bottle only.

btw, i like the color of the BPA free bottle too!!

2xMum said...

Err... did I confuse over left and right or color? The bottle on the RIGHT looks a little golden in the photo wor...than the left one. So which is which BPA free? :P

I've not bought any bottles for more than 12 months already. I still have left over stocks as my Ryan refused to drink from bottle ever since he reached about 7 mths old. Sigh...

Anyway, glad that you're back online! :)

I was about to get BPA free Avent bottle online, but since that day shopping the avent sales gal told me that the regualr bottles is BPA safe, so I still stick using the non BPA free.

As for the teats, it is always BPA free as it made from silicone, not plastics.

btw, these 2 online store can find BPA free Avent bottle
http://www.littlewhiz.com
http://www.mybbstore.com (this have discount on bottles)

Quite commom for Avent bottles to leak. Just open and screw it close again. That should do the trick

MommyAngel said...

Family First, you are so lucky then …. Mind me asking how you normally twist your bottle cap? Are you using 1 avent bottle at a time? Coz me and my friend’s bottle is always leaking ….. so frustrating at times :(

Sasha, I think the teats are BPA free, only the bottle itself is not.

ChooiPeng, see .... Almost everyone got the leaking problems from their avent bottles, and too bad I am using all M size (9oz) only so the leaking bottles are really driving me mad. You like the colour too, me too, it’s like the car window has been tinted golden colour right? :) :)

Doreen, THANK YOU SO MUCH DOREEN!!! I guess it’s me who is confused between the left and right, hahahaha .... Sorry. But it’s rectified now :)
- don’t you worry about Ryan’s new unused bottles, you can always save it for your 2nd one in future :)

Judy, yes ..... I think the old bottle is BPA safe but a lot of argument saying that polycarbonate were not suppose to use as baby bottles and that’s a lot of ppl start changing to other brand just to play safe. If they were so sure that their BPA bottles are so safe I don’t think they will be launching this new BPA free bottles right? Just my 2 cents la.
- Thanks for the link Judy. I am planning to get more stocks too :)

Coffeesncookies, thanks for the tip, so that’s mean I need to screw the bottle neck twice before I shake them?

Thinking whether to use back Avent bottle since the BPA free version is lauanched. Thanks for sharing!

MommyAngel said...

Serene, which bottle are you using now. You can give Avent a try if you don't mind the leaking ..... I am starting to get fed up with this leaking problem lately coz my BPA free bottle leaks more then my Avent naturally (not Avent philips as sold in malaysia) which I got in Bangkok.

A gift from God said...

Oh...I had that leaking problem too... I found out the only way to stop the leak is to make sure the neck fo the bottle and the teets bottom part is totally dry. If there is some water...it will definitely leak... I have tried with new bottles...also same problem.. now I am using MAM because of the BPA thingy...

Irene said...

im still using old AVENT bottle wor, yikes :(

MommyAngel said...

A gift from God, you too having the leaking problems ya, sigh!! Ya .... I will try your method to see whether it works but since I will always rince the bottle with boiling hot water before use so I really don't know how am I going to go about it but I will think of a way to and hope it solves the problems once and for all, it's really getting irritated at times especially with this new BPA free bottles, the situation is getting worst!! Sigh Sigh sigh!! I am glad that your MAM bottles don't have such problems.

Irene, no worries ...... change it now since there is this BPA free version (but pls prepare for the leaking problems) :( :( Do you have this problems with your non BPA free ones?

A gift from God said...

I also rinse the bottle before use, so what I did was, I always have a clean (change 2 days once) cloth just to wipe dry the bottle neck and the teet cap. It really works.... :) tell me if it works for you too.

MommyAngel said...

A gift from God, thanks for your tip! Actually today I tried to rince my bottle with hot water about 1/2 an hour earlier so by the time I use it, it's dry ..... so far 3 times of milk already and really no leaking as usual ........ that's really magical!!!! Maybe I will do that for 1 week and see whether it works all the time ....... Really hope it works :) Fingers crossed! Thank you so much!!!
