Few weeks back when I return to my hometown, or should I say after her 2nd birthday, hubby and I noticed that our girl seems to going through a tremendous changes in her behaviour and development, she starting to ‘understand’ about a lot of things more compare to before this. Making me sometimes feels that she really is growing up and no more a baby anymore.
Angel speech development is also improving lately. Her vocabulary is growing stronger and stronger each day (but the pronunciations is still so-so only) but I am glad that she is trying.
Angel use to call herself as “Jer” as in An -“GEL” all these while so whenever I asked her who she is, she would point at herself on the chest and say “Jer”. And while we are back at my hometown, she started to regard herself as “An-Jer” (Angel) ever since. She could remember how to address almost everyone in the house now. It’s such a sweet thing to see that she could recognized faces and would point at the pictures or addressed all of us correctly from An-jer (herself), Ma-mi, Pa-pa, Ah-Mah (My Mom), Gong Gong (My Father), Ah-gu (My bro), Ah-Kim (SIL), Yi Yi (my Sis), Mah Mah (My MIL), Yeh Yeh (My FIL), Gu Ma (My SILs), Gu Jiong (My BIL) Koko and jie jie (her cousins), Uncle and Auntie (our neighbour), etc. If someone she doesn't know, she will somehow call them "Ah-WA" ..... don't know why LoL
So my little Angel finally knows her own name, my little ANGEL she is :)

Time flies ya....Angel, big big girl lor!! :-)
So sweet of her to call her self An Jer......
I can see Angel's getting more and more understanding by following her milestones through your blog. She is indeed a big girl now. Keep it up Angel. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of you!
Angel grown up dy.....:)
Clever gal.....*clap*..*clap* for little Angel..ha ha later u can teach her to pronounce mummy + daddy's name......my Ryan now can pronounce his name, my name & also my hubby's name
thats cute... same like my boy...he can recognize his own name already...and he always say he wanted to go to school (after seeing my nephew and nieces went to school the other day in kk)...
i think its time to send him to play school.. ^_^
Sweet name for sweet little angel!~ Bravo for able to calling ur own name!~
haha..that is very cute. Enjoy ya.
Ethan is talking alot lately too. He has turned into a true blue walking parrot :)
Would love to hear Angel calling me Ah-Wa...so cute! Great milestone...can call herself by name...
Angel definitely has grown up. I think as she turns 2, her ability to recognise things, ppl, communicate and all that has improved so much. I can say that with Ashton too. As he approaches his big 2, he tends to be more comprehendable, able to understand what we are talking about, more cheeky (of coz), naughtier, and daring (climbing to the dining chair and trying to do a back-dive). I think this the sign that they are growing up Caroline, and I believe you and I are more than happy for that.
Haha.. I know why she said "ah-wa" when she dunno who to call that person. She wanted to say "what-person" I think???
Yugene, thanks :)
MummyGwen, Yes … I can feel that she is growing up fast too …..
Rachel, :)
KC, oh really?? Ryan is such a clever boy. I didn’t teach Angel our name yet ….. maybe later coz I am afraid that she will confuse, will she? Maybe I should try :)
Cath, glad that you son loves schools :) My Angel don’t know the meaning of schools yet :P BTW, are you planning to enroll you son to a play school soon? I think it’ll be a good idea and you will noticed that he actually learn a lot of things and makes lots of friends there too :)
PeiWun, yes ….. I think you are very happy too when you know Sean manage to call his own name right?
Irene, oh …. Ethan is progressing very very well, I think he is such a bright little boy you got there, just like Nicole :)
Olive, ya … I great milestone indeed and I am glad that she is progressing well. It’s so magical to watch :)
Esmeralda, you noticed something in Ashton too? That’s great Esmeralda! I cannot imagine if he climbed up the table and do that dive, I will have an heard attack if I saw that with Angel! But I am glad that our kids are growing up well and active, it’s better then them sitting at the side and keep quite right? Hahahaha ……
- oh …. Maybe you are right about that “Ah Wa” …. Hahaha. Just that today, she is doing that too then suddenly she remembers that my mom always scold her for calling out “Ah Wa” then she quickly changed to “Auntie! Uncle!” shouting at someone she noticed at the other house, hahahaha!! This girl really is being ‘too friendly’, isn’t she??
Yup. Ashton is really a dare-devil too. This morning he just hurt his finger. He slot his finger thru the small opening of the door and tried to close the door. His finger was stucked. I really panicked! I just pull the finger out. Boys!!!
Angel can call 'auntie/uncle'? So cute.... Ashton can only say 'di-di' voluntary now.. other words he won't say them if he's not in the mood. *sigh*
Esmeralda, hahaahaha ... seems like kids like to stick there fingers to every single whole which they could find LoL Luckily you manage to pull his finger out ya? Hhhhhmmmmm ...... maybe next will be their head stuck in between those safety rails coz I remember during our time, all of us (kids that time) seems to have such accidents once in a life time leh ...... I must be extra careful now too :)
Ya .... Angel can call out Auntie / Uncle out of a sudden when we were back in KK ...... Ashton can say di di now? That's great, who's that didi? So far Angel only met koko or jie jie only :) Ya ... also depends on her mood la but when it comes to Auntie and Uncles, he seems so motivated all the time.
Yeah.. you can't imagine what kids nowadays can do, and think. Really hv to be extra alert.
Ashton's 'di-di' is basically for no one. There's no di-di that he has met, so I've also no idea where that comes from. He saw few 'ko-ko's, 'jie-jie's but still dunno how to call them.
Bravo Angel... Definitely really exciting for her learning new words..
Esmeralda, hahahaha ... ic ic ... So Ashton’s “di-di” is just like Angel’s “Ah-wa” lah, which I also don’t know where she got that word from :)
Haha.. I guess so Caroline... sometimes dunno what he's referring to. He even referred the cooking gas as "ma_ma" sometimes when i"m in the kitchen. Maybe he tot that the cooking gas belongs to me - my mum said.. *slap forehead*
Esmeralda, maybe Ashton is referring to mam-mam (eating) coz the gas is always associate with cooking? Hahahaha ..... but sure is cute la :P
Great job Angel. I am very proud of you. I am sure your dad and mom too:-)
I wonder are you a Hokkienese?
Joanne, thanks ..... yup, we are 'orang hokkien', can see from how Angel call our family members hor? :)
Yeap, from the way how Angel call her uncle, I know already...
Caroline, I can definitely say that it's not referring to food as when it comes to food, he will automatically help me to get out the plates/bowls (which really freaks me out coz they are all fragile items...
Joanne, :) So you are hokkien too?
Esmeralda, Hahahaha .... same with Angel leh. Now that she knows what we are going to do (e.g. dinner time have to take plates, etc) so before we go, she will try to 'help' too ... and guess what, I let her and praying inside my heart that she will never breaks them, hahaha ....
- just that yesterday I let Angel help to take our plate of rice and put it on our table coz she was fussing again and hubby even told me I am so 'brave' to let her do that, hahahaha ... but I have prepared for the worst la coz she has been into the kitchen with me baking cakes so many times already, so far ok ah .... maybe I am used to it already? Hubby still haven't seen Angel carrying the rice cooker full of water and rice and the water spills all over the floor lagi ... I think he will pengsan if he saw the mess. But I can see that she is getting better now, no more spills and stuff like that.
Haha.. maybe your plates are not that heavy. My plates are really heavy and bulky, even for an adult, so everytime if he were to touch them, I'll really shout! How big is your rice cooker? She can carry that heavy?
Esmeralda, oh ... my plates are not that heavy actually. And Angel is a very strong girl too, she can even lift her own writing table up like doing weight lifting so the plates is just small matters to her.
My rice cooker is those normal size rice cooker, the aluminium pot is not that heavy leh. Even if it's feel with rice and water it's still ok but also, not much water needed to cook rice, right? I think me and hubby only take 1 cup of rice for dinner. Maybe you really cook a lot of rice at home but for us, not so much of rice lo.
She's definitely a strong girl!
Well, I usually cook 1 cup of rice too but my cooking pot is really heavy one.. not those light one. Even I carry also feels heavy with one hand only..
Esmeralda, no wonder la .... but Angel really is a strong girl from what I observed coz normally I would also get that 'compliment' from her doctor which requires 3 of us trying to hold her down just to get her jab done!
Btw, how did u hold Angel when she's going for a jab? The dr that I went to has a great idea I can say that. I was to sit on a chair, carrying Ashton facing me, as if I'm carrying him as usual facing me lar. So all I need to do is hold him firmly towards my body and the dr is easy to administer the jab. That helpful?
Esmeralda, I went to Dr. Terry for most of Angel’s jab but still need 3 ppl to hold her down wor and once of the one holding Angel is her daddy somemore, kakakaka …. That’s why even the doctor said that she is very ‘strong’ :) Sometimes for certain jabs, they do it on both her thighs and not the butt .... so they need her to face the doctor lo ..... strange hor!
Well, I didn't go to Dr Terry already since the last time Ashton visited Dr Chan - so we sticked to Dr Chan.
And yes, I was quite curious why Dr Terry gave the injections on both thighs and not the buttocks. Dr Chan gave on the buttocks - that's where she developed the 'perfect' and easy control when holding our child. I just need to hold Ashton by myself facing me most of the time. *fingers crossed*
Esmeralda, oh ... ic, you don't go to Dr. Terry anymore ah? Is Dr. Chan the one who's clinic is above Tong Heng? I like Dr. Terry because she always keep her appointment! I have to wait for hours.
Not all Angel's injections were in the thighs, only some ... I think maybe they have thier own reason for doing that gua? But I am glad that not much injection after 2 years old, phew!
Yup I didn't go to Dr Terry anymore. Actually since Dr Chan found out what's wrong with Ashton's on and off fever last time, and proceeded with seeting appointments with Ashton's jabs there, I kinda felt 'paiseh' to bring Ashton back to Dr Terry coz I really dunno what shall I say if she said Ashton's jabs supposed to be given to him (in fact the jabs have been given to him already by Dr Chan)... So kinda lost here you know. Yup Dr Chan has to wait for the tel call - that's the thing. Yes, her clinic is on top of Tong Hing.spone
Esmeralda, ya ya .... I know what you are talking about and how you feel. Last time me too is seeing another gynae and when I change to another one, I don't even want to bump into my previous gynae coz I feel so paiseh and if she ever asked, i also don't know what to say :)
I think I heard a lot of good comments about Dr. Chan too but his clinic is a bit far from my mom's place so Dr. Terry is very convenient.
Dr Chan is a 'she'.. hehe.. I also thought that it's a male dr in the first place. Yup she's really good with asthmatic especially...
Esmeralda, Oh really?? hahahaha .... silly me coz Dr. Chan really sounds like a male doctor, kekekeke .... but heard that her fees is very expensive too, right?
