Zen*tel

Lately Angel kept pointing at her anus and fuss while saying “Mommy make!! Mommy make!!” asking me to take away what ever is bugging her there! We took off her diapers and saw nothing but she would keep pointing there and asked me to “make”! We never think of de-wormed Angel until she really shows sign of discomfort on and off. Furthermore, Angel’s grandma suspected that the worm might be coming from the mangoes that she took everyday …… eeeeuuuwww!!!! That’s grossed!!! So I have decided to resort to Zen*tel once and for all for the very first time.

Of course our little Angel struggled when she saw the syrup and cover her mouth with both hands while running away and crying at the same time refusing to even come anywhere near to the spoons. Actually it taste sweet and nice just like those sugary syrup which is white in colour. Once we pour it into her mouth, she would push them all out with her toungue but finally, we manage to suspend 3/4 of the syrup into her mouth while the remaining 1/4 was spilled all over the floor.

We checked her poo poo the following days but really couldn’t seems to find any sign that there is any ‘wiggly looking thing’ there too ……. Ohhhhhhh, so smelly while Angel herself was covering her own nose and mouth standing far far away watching us doing our job *LoL* I can’t believe that we actually examine her poo poo that way as I am having this phobia about looking or touching bb’s poo poo before I am married. But I guess after a few times of Angel puking milk on me and having to wash her bottom everyday, everything grossed from our little ones seems to be not so ‘horrifying’ anymore "at that point" as long as our little one is staying happy and healthy :)

p/s: pls seek medical advices from your health professionals before feeding your babies with any form of medication.

I thought there are worms in Jonathan stomach when I saw him scratching his tummy while he sleeps. So I gave him Zentel too. But now, he still scratch his tummy. So is it the medicine not effective or no worm actually?

Oh, I've heard about the stool being very smelly. But I havent deworm Ethan ever, so dont really know what to expect. Cant you try using the syringe to pump it into angel's mouth? Pump to the corner so that her tongue can push it out. That's what I normally do with Ethan and syrup medication..

y dun u choose the pill form? ur gal can pop it in and chew it like a candy, though the taste may not sweet like candy.

From what I know, the worms comes out only at night when the kid is sleeping, ie not moving,, it'll come wriggling out. I haven't got a chance to 'tangkap cacing' after deworming her. Maybe you try standing vigil with a torch light when she's asleep ? Let us know k ?

I've never heard of zentel before, anyway is Angel feeling better?

I've fed HQ Zentel only once so far, but didn't see anything in his poop. I think it's time for another round again...

I also give Tina Zentel that I bought from her paed while she's 18 mth. have no problem to let her drink that and I also check her poo poo for several days..also no sign of wiggly things..

But I agree with you caroline, before married..this cannot that cannot but after have Tina..all I can..hehehe..just for the sake of Tina..

But I think that Angel is big enough to know that Zentel is not nice to taste..isn'it? such a clever cute girl..

Cynthia, you sure are one great mommy to your little girl :) :)

Julie, Hahahahaha …. I think they won’t feel itchy at the tummy if there is worms :P :P Maybe it really is no worms and he just feel itchy at his tummy part only :P :P

Mery, I am not sure coz sometimes even fresh mango will have worms! I have seen one before, so yucky!!

MummyGwen, you checked her poo poo too?? Hahahahaha!! But Rachel did mention that her paed told her we won’t see worms in the poo poo actually, aikkksss, should have know that earlier or asked the paed first!!

Yuki, yes … I think no need to de-worm so frequently one. My paed told me once every year should be enough for normal kids. If he is ok then no need to feed him that all the time I guess :)

Merryn, you mean if got worm inside the poo poo will be extremely smelly?? Wow … Angel’s stool has been very very smelly and after taking the medicine still is! Yes, silly me didn’t think to use the syringe at first coz I thought it taste good and she will like it, mana tau …… thanks for sharing with me how to pump in the medicine Merryn! :)

MummyInVain, never think of that before coz I thought syrup should be easier as Angel hasn’t start eating sweets yet so I am afraid that she won’t want to chew the tablets! Nect time maybe I should request for the tablets form hor.

Coffeesncookies, oh … thanks for sharing such useful info. No wonder I heard my friends told me that her son’s grandma did help her grandson to ‘catch the worm’ and I was still like how to ‘catch the worm’, now I know!! Now since she has taken the medicine so I guess no more worms to catch so maybe next time. If I really successfully catch one or seen one, I will let you know, k? Wow …. That’s something new to learn :)

Kristie, I only learn about deworm when Angel was more then 1 year old so now you know :) First time mommy like us really have a lot to learn :) :)

Rachel, hahahahahaha ….. thanks thanks thanks so much for telling me la!!! Should have known it better so I do not need to smell and look into that horrible looking poo poo for so many days la, hahahahaha, but that’s so funny hor :P :P

Mommy to Chumsy & PeiWun, I would freak out too but still eager to find out whether there is any worms :P

BoeyJoey, Hahahaha …. You too check the poo poo??

Sha, hahahaha, seems like every mommy is checking their little one’s poo poo after taking Zental :P But Tina is such a good girl, at least she didn’t fuss when taking it! I think Angel is very particular about what goes into her mouth, even before she turns 2 also like that, sigh!

Yugene, I didn’t feed Angel with that too but when my mom told me there might be ‘worms’ from the mango that she took, I quickly let her take the medicine as seeing her crying if better then they worms living in her tummy I guess :P

Ummi, you are welcome dear. Actually last time I wasn’t aware about deworm our kids too until I saw some blogger mommies done that and asked her paed about it. Seems like this is quite common in Asia country to deworm their young kids every year but in western country, it’s not a common practice still.

She likes to eat mango? You mean mangoes will cause worms in kiddo's stomach?

Hmm..I wonder how mommy check Angel's poo2. Hehe...

MommyAngel said...

Joanne, I think mango is one of the fruit that will attract worms as it's sweet :) I don't know whether will caused worms but that's what my mom worried as we have seen worms inside the mangoes before lo :)
- How I check her poo poo ah? hahahaha .... you don't want to know :P :P

Aiyoh... I forgot to ask my MIL check my boy's poo poo on the next day after taking the Zentel!!

The pharmacist told me that when the anus feels itchy and the kid keep biting/sucking fingers mean that's the sign of having worms in there. My Ryan only have the habit of putting his finger in the mouth but no signs/complains from him of itchiness in the anus. Somehow, I still feed him the ZTL... :P

Doreen, thanks for the useful info. Next time I know what other sign to look for :)
