i = 1, q = 9 & Craving for Food.

All these while I am showing Angel ABC in the capital letters with only a smaller lower case at the bottom and today, when she keep pulling me for her ABC session again while I am having my breakfast (oh no, not again, sigh …..), somehow due to hunger or maybe I am still half way in my dreamland, I just pointed at the lower case then she reads in a slower-then-usual pace “a,b,c,b,0,f,9, …,1,1, …, ect.” I didn’t realize it at first but wonder how come she is not paying attention anymore until I saw where my fingers were pointing at. No wonder i = 1, g and q = 9, I haven’t introduced Angel to the lower case as yet, I don’t want to rush things :) Anyway, I am glad that she is paying attention to what she reads after all. Sorry girl, it’s mommy’s fault :P

But at the mean time, q does looks like 9 and so does g ……oh dear. How am I going to teach her the lower case which is much more complicated then capital letters and tell her A is ‘A’ is the same as ‘a’, and B is ‘B’ and ‘b’ *scratching head* Or should I proceed to the word approach now and comes back to the phonics later?

**********************

Angel is extremely hungry today too. After finishing her 1 bottle of 9 oz milk early in the morning, 10 minutes later she asked for “Nen-Nen” again (seldom happens) and after looking at her flat tummy, I give in and there goes another 9 oz of milk. Then 1 ½ hour later, she asked for maam maam again but didn’t finished her cereal though :( She is craving for food today :)

P/S: Just in case you were wondering, lately Angel has been making a lot of initiations for me to teach her new things / words and I am trying to attend to her constant interest / thirst to learn.

am sure angel is a smart gal since she able to recognize capital letter now!!! guess can casually introduce her the small letter and no rush definitely.. ;) learning shld be a fun process after all ya..

chloe prefers singing & talking more than learning ABC.. she only "remembered" A for Apple, B for Boy, C for Cat but not really to recognize the LETTER by itself loh.. prob long way to go still when she is ready.. hahahaaa..

anyway, really enjoy the slow pace of angel while reading!!! so cute

Agnes, on the contrary, I think Angel is not smart after all, just an ordinary kid as I find that she is very forgetful with new things that we teaches her and also have short span of concentration when it comes to learning. Actually I did not put in much effort in teaching her in recognizing the alphabets (she must have learned it from reciting her ABC by pointing at her learning table almost everyday now, gosh ..... Doesn’t she get bored with it yet?) so I guess I will follow her demand as she shows signs that she wants to learn more.

Ya ...... agree with you with both hands and legs up that learning should be a fun process!! But at this point, I feels that she is rushing me more then I rush her which makes me hesitate a bit, hahahaha. She keeps getting all her books / stories / cards and asked me to tell her what they were (but then due to her forgetful self, I need to repeat and repeat to her everyday, oh ..... that’s not fun I tell you ......) She is especially fascinated by her ABCs and 123s!! Unstoppable sometimes but I think it’s just a phase ...... She prefers singing too but definitely NOT talking! (she didn’t talk much, still doing baby talk most of the time but improving la) making me wonder why .......

Ya ........ I think Chloe is such an amazing little girl and a great chatter box, so cute ........ (she can even remember who give her what 1 month ago as pressie – from your post, oh my ......) and I must say that I am amazed!! This certainly will help her a lot when she enters school. Can’t wait for your next posting on Mummy – Chloe conversation actually :)

That's good Angel is interested in learning new things. Gwen suddenly lose interest in learning but she likes nursery rhymes and books with pictures. Although she knows all the capital letters, she is not interested anymore. I need to start on the small letters again.

Well, she is considered a smart girl, considering she can really read out a "bad-written-alphabets" is u understand what I meant... and she's so hardworking... drag u for ABCs? I will dream for that too, but all Ashton wanna do now is playing his stacking games, and arranging his flash cards on the floor!

Talk about huge appetite, Angel does hv a big one! Sfter 10mins - 9oz? How often does this occur? Maybe now that she's 2 already her appetite has grown - means more portion for bfast, lunch & dinner?

I think it's her growing phase that she kept on wanting to learn new things... Her brain needs more food - knowledge!

Happy 2nd Birthday Angel... Great achievement so far!

I think this is every parents big dream that the kids have the initiative to learn. I guess Angel is really interested in learning.

It is a good news that Angel has appetite.
Normally Angel will have her milk for how frequent? 3 hours once?

PeiWun, thanks ….. :)

Mummy Gwen, Gwen loves nursery rhymes and picture books? I think it’s nice for kids to love songs and picture books :) Angel is more interested in books with words coz if I were to give her a picture book, she will flip for 5 minutes then she is done. But if she were to get my dictionary, she will be happy flipping here and there for a good 10 – 15 minutes.
- Gwen is hard working to for knowing all the capital letters. If you got a good way to teach small letter, please share with me ya :)

Esmeralda, ya …. She loves doing her ABC nowadays, maybe I let her break too long in her alphabets coz we concentrate more on colours and shapes and other stuffs now. I think stacking game is good too, maybe you can buy those stacking blocks with ABC then he can learn while play :)
- I think so far only 2 times that she drank 18 oz of milk within 10 minutes time span. The other time is 9 oz milk + 9 oz apple juice which I prepare for her later consumption and once she finished her milk and saw her apple juice, she keep crying for the juice until I no choice, have to give to her. Ya …. I think I will have to increase her solid intake nowadays.

Joanne, Ya …. I am glad that she loves to learn too but on the other hand, I am a bit worried that it will be too much for her too so all this while, I just wait for her to approach me and I try not to force her if she doesn’t want a stories, or anything. Well …. I just hope that she will keep it up and don’t pressure herself too much lo.
- Normally she will have her solid / milk every 3 hours or less, how about Sarah? Does her appetite getting bigger and bigger now?

Is true also Caroline. Sometimes I also tried not to force Sarah in learning flash card or etc...I am afraid she will get bored with it if I asked her to learn it daily.

For Sarah, recently her milk intake is going from bad to worst...Meaning, from last time 3 ounces every 3 hours to now 2.5 oz or 1.5oz for about 6 hours. She still takes her solid food, but when comes to milk, she just dont like it at all...

MommyAngel said...

JT, ic ..... she doesn't like her milk anymore ya? But milk is very important for her growth at this stage unless she is taking any other source of calcium la. But luckily she loves her solid very much hor ...... some kids prefers certain food over others la, like Angel, her milk is no. 1 but solid .... *shake head*

Yalor, Sarah doesnt like her milk now. I also pening with that. I know that milk is important for her, so I am now thinking of other brand of formula.

Joanne, yes ... I think maybe she is bored with her old milk already after taking it for so long. Don't worry, there are a lot of good brand in the market still, happy searching!
