Yippie ….. an hour of pure silence of candle light night!! Our 60 Earth Hour was a pleasant experience for our little family actually. We switched off almost everything in our house except 1 fan in the living room (Ya …. Not prepared for a sauna at that moment yet :P). When the clock strikes 8.30pm and we switched off the final lighting in our house, 15 minutes later, we could feel the difference …….. Our house is not as hot as before, we can actually feel the cold air circulating inside the living room with no unnecessary heat generated from the computer, the TV, the standby DVD player, the lightings, etc. Really cannot imagine how much heat was produced just from these electrical appliances and the lightings alone. That’s certainly something that our little family hasn’t really experience before and I am glad that we did participate in this event and real life experience will always makes stronger statement / impression then anything else. We did feel the difference ourselves. I am sure from now one, we will have this 60 earth hour at our little home sweet home pretty often guess as we still have the remaining candles, isn’t that great?
Angel is quite happy to see the candles and lights off actually but as our naughty girl running around the house with dim candle lights, it’s a bit tough to make sure her don’t hurt herself as she cannot see her way clearly and nearly knock into the corners of our dinning table a few times :) I will make sure we come to a solution for that area before another round of ‘candle light night’ again :)
All and all, we are glad that we did it and also we are happy that our 60 Earth Hour experience is not just a ‘do for fun event’ but a event that has make a change in our lifestyle from now on.

Well done... For a good cause... yup I sort of experience the same thing when we had power cut for 3 hours 2 days ago... it felt cooler, and peaceful lei... But kids around, candles in the house is so dangeroua ya... esp when it comes to table corners...
So what did you all do in that 1 hour? I mean particularly what did Angel do ya?
Where did you buy the candles? Was that in a particular shop? Never seen one before.
Glad to know Angel enjoy the candle light nite. =) I also thought of do it(turn off light) every once a month. Since I have quite many candle in my store room. haha
great eh? i saw ikano n 1U in darkness (no billboard lights) n then KLCC n KL tower in darkness too.. that is super amazing.. makes me want to observe earth hour every 1st of the month and make sure this time i wont be on the road burning fuel!

Esmeralda, Ya … during night time without proper lighting at home really quite dangerous with young kids around. Everytime I have to call out to Angel to see where is she coz I can’t see her clearly anywhere :)
- during that 1 hour ah, sitting in the living room with hubby and Angel chatting how dark it is la then taking pictures in the dark lo :) Actually it’s the only time that hubby is not watching TV and I am not net surfing, and Angel don’t mess with her toy coz she can’t find them in the dark, quite nice actually :)
- I bought those candles from a shop selling aroma oil :) I think we will be able to find it even in the supermarket but just that maybe not smokeless.
Serene, So how’s Xixi acting during earth hour? She enjoy those candles?

My hubby try to switch off lights but...only half of it cos my MIL is making Kuih..:-p
My FIL also make little bit of noise cos can't watch TV (as he does not want to watch in the dark!! :-p)
Kyle play outside (within the house area) cos the street lighting is not off....so not too bad...
Angel is so brave not afraid of the dark ah. Can see Angel's shadowy figure there...hehe...
True.. true... when there's no power, that's the quality time... hehehe.... means that we have been doing our own things so much lei... *lol* Haha.. Angel can't find her toys in the dark? But she's very obedient not messing up with the candles, or getting fussy ya?
Ok... I'll be on the look-out for that specialty candles... are they expensive?
Haha... my pil were happily watching tv... i think they forgot about the 60 hour thing.
Ryan and I were on the way out to airport to pick up his dad... but I think he won't be scared of darkness... as he could still move/play around in our bedroom without the lights on... :D

I did not join the fun, coz normally about that time Sarah started to feel sleepy and want to sleep already.

- Oh, I bought mine 4 piece of candles for around 10 ringgit, I think it’s a bit expensive for candles la …. :)

Oh, your hubby is back, that’s nice :) No wonder didn’t see you blog for few days liao la, hahahaha ….. your Ryan is really brave la, Angel will play with candles on but if in total darkness, she will be afraid and lie on her bed and don’t dare to move at all ;P
Joanne, Sarah still sleeps so early ah? How nice ….. Angel now almost follow our sleeping time which is near midnight leh, I think I really need to make her sleep earlier la but since she could talk a bit now, everytime asking her to sleep, she will tell me “no no no” :( You can see her too right? Hahahah …. I think some computers only saw total darkness in that picture.
Yeah... sometimes I think that I've neglected Ashton in certain ways, esp now him being so clingy to me - maybe it's becos I pay
less attention to him... *sigh*
The candles got aroma one? Maybe specialty candles are expensive...but if it's made of good quality stuff, worth it... not like the normal candles we have...

You still remembered I told you that Sarah sleep early. Good memory.
Actually many mths back, when she had two naps in the noon, she tends to sleep very late at night. Erm, maybe 1o or sometimes 11pm.
But now she only sleep once for nap, which is normally one hour, so she will get tired easily.
Haha...so cute that Angel will tell you "no no no" for not going to bed so early. Luckily Sarah still don't talk yet, so I can still put her to bed at that early time.

Joanne, ya .. coz last time Angel and Sarah go to bed around the same time but not now. Even sometimes Angel does not sleep at all in the afternoon, she still sleeps very very late. Maybe I should train her to sleep earlier again so that I could have more 'me' time and not 'us' time all the time, hahahaha.
Yup... blogging has definitely takes my time "away" from him sometimes... I just let him play wid his toys/watch tv for few minutes... by himself!
Oh... I think the candles don't have any aroma since u also didn't smell it...
Esmeralda, that's why I am thinking to cut dowm my blogging time too ..... hahahaha. Coz I have been missing out a lot on Angel's playing time lately too I think ..... ya, I really should!!!
Wah...then Angel is really energetic toddler. Can stay active for so many hours.
