Green Peas / Garden Peas

It has been quite awhile since I last post up on Angel’s food. Before giving her the CNY Green Pea Cookies which I’ve made, I have tested the peas on her menu for a week and she is doing fine with them. I think Green Pea does make a healthy meal for young toddlers due to it’s high protein value and also loaded with Vitamin A, C and Iron too. I am glad that she likes the peas but I need to peel the skin off before I cook because she choked easily on the skin and gets frustrated with her meal.

So here was the first Green Pea dish I cook for her, Green Peas with Mince Meat porridge. It looks bland but it taste good. I boiled the pork bone soup base over night and use the soup based to cook her porridge.

Steam Eggs with Green Peas + Broccolis + Mince Meat and serve with rice / porridge / cereal. I think this is one healthy and simple dish to prepare especially when I can’t cook her porridge in time :) I have improved this version with some more colourful vegetables instead of just greens and I will post the other version up soon.

Green Peas + Pumpkin Soup Pasta. She just love her animal pasta so much compare to porridge / rice.

p/s: Any mommies know where can I get fresh green pea from? How a fresh green pea looks like before taking out the seed? Anyone? *shy*

Caroline,
All of the menu looked good and colourful leh. You are very creative in combining the colours. So does Angel like the first two menu?
- I also like to steam egg for Sarah when I did not prepare any porridge for her. She also likes it.
- May I know what type of broth that you used for the pasta?

Esmeralda, really can’t even find in Tong Heng ah? But I think this type of pasta really selling like hot cakes leh, once they got stocks must really stock up or else, really hard to find.

JT, thanks for your compliment :) Actually Angel quite like it but don’t know whether she still likes it for now coz she is so fussy, will try for her again soon.
-As for the pasta, I just put in the soup which I use to boiled the pork bone + Pork Meat + Pumpkin leh, nothing else. She loves pasta with this type of clear soup.
-Thank you so much for the link Joanne, you are so nice :) But after looking at the picture, I still cannot figure out whether I have seen this type of Beans in our market or not …… have you? Really would be nice if we know the name of the Bean in our language hor coz so far, I never seen such bean with the label “Green Peas” on it :) Thanks so much ya :)

Is ok, slowly adjust angel's appetite back to normal. I am sure at the end of the day, she still prefers mommy's cooked meal.

Ok, pork bone and pork meat soup..sure taste nice. Too bad, around my place here, dont have pork. So normally I will just use chicken bone and meat to make soup.

You are most welcome about the link I have provided. Just a lil help...Erm, I just cant recall the chinese name of the bean, but I am sure you have seen it wor..is quite common to find it in market. Normally we use it to fry with cauliflower.

Serene, the pea I use is not the fresh one ….. oh, the Japanese pea ah, is that the same pea coz normally those we have is not as round and as big wor ……

Kristie, thanks for your nice words dear :)

JT, ic … chicken bone also good in cooking soup but normally it has a lot of small bones in the soup right if using chicken bone …… I am lazy lar so I used chucky pork bone :)
- Oh … I know the bean that you said normally used to fried cauliflower, actually me and hubby thought it’s that kind also but when we saw it, the seed in the bean is so much flatter and smaller then those I bought in a can or the frozen garden pea wor …. Why ah?

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Yalor, chicken bone will have those tiny bones after long hour cooking in water.
- Yes yes..thats the type of green pea I was saying.
I also saw it before. It really so much smaller than the can peas...I also wonder why. Hehe..Sorry cant help much in this query.
