[1Y8M] Self Feeding

Finally the time has come …. Angel refused us to feed her after a few trials letting her to do her own feeding and I think she is doing more then just great. I am also very impressed how well she could control her hand movements actually. Normally I would let her do some self feeding practices when I am serving her finger foods / snacks / meehoon (dry) started few weeks back and today, suddenly she wants to self feed on her porridge instead. Initially, I am not too sure about the idea of the watery porridge. But our stubborn girl is really determine to eat by her own self and would not open her mouth and starting to make a fuss and crying until me and hubby finally give in.

Me and hubby was standing beside her with a new pack of wet wipes and a kitchen roll, watching her every action anxiously and awaits the disasters which was going to happened ………………….. but well, well, well, I guess we really have overlooked the little girl’s ability this time. Not only she does not make a mess out of her porridge, on the contrary she sits on her high chair obediently and finished up all her porridge in a record breaking time LoL The amount of food spilt on her feeding bib and the table was also impressively very little. Most of the time, the spoon full of porridge that she scoop manages to make their way into her mouth without much spill out. Surprisingly, she will also use the spoon to clean-up the residual left around her mouth. Although her movements was not as smooth as us adults but I was really impressed by her progress I must say. Somehow feels that my little girl is really growing up now …………

I enjoy feeding Angel very much and I think I will miss those moments pretty soon :)
